I have always disliked trash talking before a game because those trash talkers usually lose the game.

$20 says all the people whining about this being trash talk and bullentin board material are over 50. this is the world we live in now, i hope rjf goes out there and puts teblow on his arse. i also hope teblow reads this and its in the back of his mind the whole game.

Dumb statements. True or not, it's dumb to make quotes like that.

It's this simple. I don't mind a little trash talk, but don't say you are "trying to take someone out". Getting "a shot in on a heisman winner" is one thing, but this is wrong.

If they were saying this about Lee, the rant would be in an uproar.

Honestly, I don't like the trash talking, I say play it out on the field. At the same time however, if someone else said that, so what. It's not a secret. The defense's job is to punish the offense. If it's a clean shot that takes out a QB then so what? That's their job. Stop them by any means (as long as they are legal and within the rules of the game). Just my opinion, I'm pretty sure most defensive linemen wanna take out a QB. In no way does that mean cause long-time negative effects.

Saying that "you want to take someone out" sounds like you want to do it no matter how it happens (go at the knees or head... whatever). Not saying that RJF is saying this, or has a history of playing dirty, but I don't like what the statement infers.

If Tebow gets nailed with a legit hit and gets carted off the field, then that's part of the game... and I'm fine with that. That's football.

So everybody is ok with RJF taking Tebow out...just don't want him to talk about it...

meh.

he said exactly what you would expect a defensive player to be thinking.

i think some people are a little sensitive today.

Maybe he did say what he was thinking... but does that mean that he should have said it.

Maybe some of us are a little sensitive about this issue. I just don't want our guys to be the players to say or do these types of things. I don't like that "take him out" part. I think everything else he said, I was ok with.

I can't be that sensitive... I'm on here everyday.

I just don't want any of our players to come across as disrespectful.
i highly doubt that the RJF "take him out" comments are meant to be taken literally as in trying to injure Tebow. A defensive player's mindset is to stop the opposing offense at all costs, including vicious (and legal) hits on the QB to take him out of his game. Tebow is the Heismann winner and the leader of the Florida O and RJF wants to stop him. What's so unusual about that?

Certainly hopes RJF shows up for this game.

Our defense has looked mere average thus far and I'm not expecting anything different against a high powered FL offense.

That high powered FL offense has looked "mere average" this year so far. Even the "experts" on ESPN say they're still looking for an identity and haven't found the sparks of previous years. I'm not saying they're capable. I'm saying they have looked just as average and our defense is perfectly capable as well.
