JP Narcotics detectives in plain clothes. So....criminals? I highly doubt the "plain clothes" were polos and khakis.

Wouldn't the detective have had a gun along with the cuffs? And where were the other police? Something doesn't sound right, indeed. I doubtful punches where actually thrown, but stupidity was thrown all over the place.
A wise man would stay out of it unless he witnessed some level of brutality. But in the age of smart phones, why not just video the incident?
In either case, his scholarship is in jeopardy.

my 2 pennies:
1. hanging out in an area of known concern to the poe-poe
2. involved enough to give a shite about someone being arrested.
3. ensuing shenanigans
regardless of level of involvement, he was involved to some degree. Maybe you might learn from your degenerate brother????????
I was a pretty liberal/wreckless youth yet I NEVER came close to getting involved in the type of shite that happens on the reg to some of these guys. jeez

I can go with that. It's not hard to stay out of trouble. 95% of the LSU football players that come through the program are able to stear clear of any issues with the law.

Getting into this late, but I'm not really sure what they were arresting this first guy for. By first guy I mean Jefferson's friend who cussed at the cop.
Is cussing at a cop one time and walking away grounds for arrest? I don't know how it is. It is disrespectful, sure, but respect isn't the law.
Jefferson shouldn't have punched the cop, but it seems to me there is more to this story somewhere.
