RICHT MADE AN "A HOLE" SELFISH MOVE SATURDAY...LES='S CLASS!

did anyone see the end of the uga/vandy game saturday...richt couldn't accept a 7 point win against a good vandy team....instead of running out the clock he called a TIMEOUT with 22 ticks left and he wanted 3 more points when all he had to do was run down the clock and kneel on the ball as time runs out and preserve the game safely...but he didnt....all because he wanted fg practice for his kicker?come on...
...they could have easily ran out the clock up by 7 pts much like lsu did to usc but richt opted to go for the field goal with seconds left potentially allow vandy a chance to block it and possibly returning it for a touchdown to tie it?.....he put his TEAM AT RISK FOR NOTHING...richt put his ego in front of the team....
.....however miles did not....hats off to miles......he protected the best interests of his team.....

quote:yes it does....he put himself in front of the team......anyone who UNDERSTANDS what the concept of team is and no one player or coach is bigger than the team.....well richt put himself above his team and put his team at risk by kicking instead of kneeling on it with seconds left.....thats called putting your team at risk of losing a game when he was up by 7.....
RICHT IS AN SELFISH "A HOLE" AND THIS IS WHY.....
That doesn't make him and A hole, a hole.

He's probably looking toward the toatal points scored factor in the final who gets rated where analysis.

i would have much preferred LSU to score a TD or even field goal at the end of their game vs. SC.
it makes your team look better....

dude, we tried to rush it into the endzone on first through third down. We kneeled it when it was obvious that an attempt at a score would be classless. One second on the clock.
Its 3 xtra points, who gives a shite? What about Miles calling for a fake punt in the 4th quarter when we were crushing Miami in the Peach Bowl?

There were about 17 seconds left when that field goal was kicked. What happens if they just run the clock down that far and turn it over and Vandy scores a TD? Then what? It was a smart play.
And I think Richt is not a very good coach.

Unfortunatly nowadays you almost have to try to run up the score for style points. Think of the voters. Do you think that every voter watches every game. In the chance that a voter didn't see the game, he is just going to look at the score and Richt knew a 10 point win would look better the a 7 point win in the paper.

There were nine seconds left in the game. If they take a knee, then Vandy gets the ball back. He kicked a field goal to make the score look better, AND to go up 2 scores and clinch the win. It is not a dick move at all. It was an early game. Half of the voters didn't watch it and didn't care. They just looked at the score. Double-digit wins sound nice.

There were still 20 seconds left in the Georgia game and they were around the Vandy 20.
While LSU had 2 seconds left and were on the 7 yard line.
I would have kicked the field goal if I were Richt. It was the right call. Stop trying to make shite out of nothing.

With respect to that fake punt against Miami, I heard that was a read the punter could make if he had a certain read of the defense. Much like that fake punt pass out of our own end zone against Arizona State.

He knows that after USC beat wazzou by 69 points that UGA is going to have to win every game big to move up. Stop being an idiot and think that coaches don't scoreboard watch during there own game.

Not so sure vandy is a good team yet. How in the hell did State beat them. Blind squirrel, I guess.

Richt is 78-20 as a head coach (80% winning percentage). He has won 10+ games in 5 of his 7 complete seasons. Saban has won 10 games twice looking for a third this season. Saban has coached 12 complete seasons as the head man. Miles is looking for his fourth 10 win season in five years.
I would love to see a "good" coach.

Really - then what does that make him - a shrewd Coach?
That was a particularly stupid decision on his part and a needless additional score. The poster correctly made the point that this could have backfired.
So to people around Vandy, yeah he is a bit of a jerk - just like he was last year when his team showed no discipline jumping up and down on the Vandy Star. In this case, Vandy going for 4th down deep in their own territory is the ONLY DAMN reason they were in field goal range, to begin with.
I might be wise to learn some perspective before calling people names.

Your wrong about the Miami peach bowl game. Under normal conditions I would agree, but do you not remember all the trash talking Miami did leading into that game and during pregame? Miles was sending a clear msg by hammering the Canes the way he did.
