Yep, you would think this would garner some media attention, but as long as there’s pressure building internally to get rid of them, that should be enough.

There is more going on behind the scenes than is being reported on. Lipsey isn't on an island here, I'll leave it at that.

The local media is committed to carrying the water for Alleva and F'king, which is honestly probably advantageous for the camp that wants to see them replaced.

This part is glaringly obvious.

It seems like the LSU admins are focusing all their attention on keeping any bad press off themselves, when they should be focusing on making the right decisions for LSU and staying in the good graces of the people who matter, like Lipsey.

The sad part is that Lipsey’s manifesto has gotten zero media attention, at least to my knowledge.

They Hayride is the only media outlet I've see cover it.

While I’d prefer Lipsey's piece be carried by all media outlets, the message was sent to and received by the people who needed to see it.

It’s really a damn shame that this thread doesn’t even get a sticky on the LSU message board.

This is a strong statement about LSU’s administration coming from one of the most influential benefactors in both LSU athletics and academics. It’s a big deal.

I think the key takeaway from Lipsey's post is that while the Wade situation was poorly handled, the problems at LSU go way deeper than athletics. More people need to realize this.

Hayride tweet with reply from Richard Lipsey
quote:

Scott, Appreciate engagement on the issue. Sorry don’t have contact for you. 3 clarifications: I’m only 79??. I was honored to be offered to return but left Regents. I’ll never make coaching suggestions. Only point was with coach change or not new AD will be required. Thx RL

It really amazes me that instead of covering an article from one of the most powerful and influential individuals in Louisiana that details LSU's dysfunctional administration, the Advocate (specifically Scott Rabalais) instead publishes an article telling us that LSU's loss to Florida "is on Wade", while attempting to exonerate LSU.

LINK

Tells you all you need to know. It reads like it came straight from LSU's athletic department.

I find it very encouraging that the people who matter are calling for the jobs of the people who need fired. While I’d love for the media to be doing the same, they don’t matter. They only care about inside access. They’re going to have egg all over their faces when the plug is pulled.

Their tears will indeed be sweet.

Is there any indication that this is even happening? We've been watching this circus for years and nothing seems to change.

I can't tell if Lipsey's article is just hopeless venting or if it's laying the groundwork for a more orchestrated effort to bring about change.

Lipsey’s piece was a window into the discussions taking place behind closed doors. This is a public rebuke from a prominent supporter ($$$). We haven’t seen this before and it’s encouraging.

I'm not reading that garbage. Wade practically begged to be allowed to coach while the investigation took place. LSU could've handled the situation the same way Arizona has, but instead they jumped the gun and overreacted per usual.

JBE has appointed over half the BOS. JA just got an extension. He appears to be safe. Alleva I don't know.

Lipsey is a self made multi millionaire in BR who has given tons of cash and his valuable time to LSU. One of the good guys around LSU and he calls it like he sees it
