Winning on a much higher level than just this year’s athletics. Alleva gone, FKA gone. In one year the trajectory of LSU’s academic and athletic programs has changed and is trending sky-high.

Thank you Richard Lipsey!! Now let’s go get Emmert.

I just hope that we don't wind up with Dardenne. It will be better than FKA, but not by much...

If you think Lipsey wasn’t instrumental in this “transfer,” you don’t understand his influence or the tendencies of boards to maintain the status quo until met with enough pressure from such influences.

I do too. Dardenne doesn’t even have a master’s degree. He’s not qualified to teach at LSU, much less be president. Should be an automatic disqualifier.

Meh. The guy is a little bitch about St. George. He is a typical fat cat. Wants to follow just ideals and the law until it hurts him.

Why do people assume education and leadership/management ability are mutually exclusive? Emmert has a Ph.D...does that mean he’s automatically not a good leader? Come on. We should expect both from a university president.

No

You are the one putting on hard and fast qualifiers, not me......

I am fine with a Ph.D getting the position. But I think needing a "masters degree" is such a foolish thing for so many positions.

I think a university president should have achieved both a high level of education AND a high level of leadership and management ability.

Why sacrifice one if you don’t have to?

Because I think higher education as a whole is one of the biggest farces. Just a personal opinion

You are literally pointing to your experience in higher education as evidence of the credibility of your opinion that experience in higher education is not something that should grant credibility....

I am 72 yo.
Have taught at various colleges and while I am not against TITLES in Education...most of the more incompetent people w little common sense that I have met, have them. This is not to say that everyone that has higher level degrees is ignorant, but a degree does not say that you are a good business person.

Start w Bill Gates...
Can not give you a count on the number of PhDs that have consulted with me over the years.

A college President runs a business,
EDUCATION is its product.

As long as the new guy doesn't bend over for the whiney SJWs I won't complain.

I guess you're right that he doesn't have a master's degree, but he has a doctorate (juris doctorate), right?
