A couple things I’ve picked up on:

- Ehlinger can run as well as any QB in the country. Herman likes to run QB power inside the 10 and it works often. He’s surprisingly slippery and likes to get physical.

- his arm is slightly above average. he doesn’t make too many mistakes, takes what the defense gives usually. a big reason for their success is that he’d throw it up to Lil’Jordan and Collin Johnson and they’d make some pretty insane catches. Lil’Jordan is a beast. Don’t see how they’ll be able to do that on our DBs without him

- They tend to play up/down their opponent. I’d expect to get their best shot.

- Their game against UGA was mainly about getting turnovers deep in UGA territory. They took advantage of opportunities, but really didn’t move the ball as much as the score would indicate

It’s tough to gauge how they’ll play against us because they simply didn’t play anyone with our level of talent in the secondary and on top of that we’re still not exactly sure what our offense will be like.

Ehlinger is a solid QB. You can’t take anything away from that guy and he’ll make WRs around him better.

Texas will score points but I think LSU will score plenty. Our defense will need to play at a high level out of the gates and I firmly believe they will.

Watching him, he is a better runner than Tebow, and this is the amazing part to me. I think he runs harder and tougher than Tebow or Newton!!!

I agree his receivers made him look better as a passer! I also agree our secondary should be able to stand toe to toe. But what I saw in the UGA game towards the end the UGA DB’s were not wanting to tackle Ehlinger because he was hurting them! Our front seven can’t allow him to get to the second level he is too big and to physical to take that pounding all day!

They return 2 offensive lineman, so it’s good ole’ boy can run, because he’ll be up against one of the best front 7’s in the country. And throwing it against the best secondary in the country.

It doesn’t matter who they line up on offense, because they won’t see the field. They are down their stud safety now, which leaves them with 2 returning starters on defense. Our offense returns 8. To me, that adds up to a time of possession mismatch for the team that failed to have any plays over 50 yards last season. I know everyone wants Texas to be back, and they are.... to being the same shite team they always are.

This information is incorrect.

I think we need to spy him all game. He looks to run first when he feels pressure. If I were Aranda I'd mainly run man with Delpit spying in the box and Todd Harris holding down the back end

I certainly wouldn’t say he’s a better runner than Cam, nor would I say he runs harder than Tebow. Cam was literally untouchable at times and Tebow was the biggest grinder I’ve ever seen. Ehlinger is good and the comparisons are there, but he’s not in the conversation with those two

You’d think Kirby Smart would know what he’s doing too. Fact of that matter is, Georgia didn’t respect his ability to scramble and ultimately paid the price.

you see I think this is a misconception about how that game played out. Georgia’s defense actually did a pretty good job slowing down Texas’s offense and stopped Ehlinger at the LOS more than a few times. Texas KILLED Georgia with field position off of turnovers early in the game which is how they scored nearly half of their points. Ehlinger only had 3 yards/carry. People just say he ran all over them because he had a couple really nice runs and even those runs were created off of poor tackling from an uninspired Georgia defense that was without their best player DeAndre Baker.
