My point is that your Passing Defense stats are a joke.

Of these "Top-10" passing defenses. Only one had a DB drafted.
Your go-to Pass D stat ranking is a joke!!!

There's no doubt the passing game improved the last quarter of the season.
Oh ok.
Of the 3 following teams who had the best pass defense:
Bama, Arky, TAMU?
Go look at the Total defensive rankings since you don’t like pass defense and get back to me.
Miss st
Miami
UGA
All of those were better than Bama.
Bama was not a top 15 defense ZERO POINTS
UCF - 99th RANKED DEFENSE

Way too many variables to do a simplistic ranking of defenses. Like, how long do the ones actually stay on the field? And what effect does D-Line pass rush have? How many plays to NFL-bound players dog it against teams with no shot in hell of winning?
But here's a stat no one can deny...
Alabama had 5 defense players drafted in 2019 NFL draft. And Bama has 5 more defense players projected in the 2020 NFL draft - all five for '20 are projected as first-rounders by BR* - Davis, Jennings, Lewis, Moses, Diggs (and BR only listed the 1st-round picks - probably a couple more will also be drafted)
So, "higher ranked" defenses like Eastern Mich and Bowling Green, Central Mich, App St, Tulsa, Cal, Southern Miss, etc are TOUGHER to throw against than Bama?????
Dude... get real.

First and foremost GFYS. Second better execution from tackle positions and those stats would have been better. He was running for his life from the type of defenses who have the tools to exploit the lack of true tackles situation LSU has endured the past few years. But you know that or do you Colorado State? What is a Ram doing on a Tiger board or is that your alter ego fandom. And oh just as a reminder in all seriousness, warmth and friendship GFYS and the horse you came riding in on and played with last night.

quote:are you honestly trying to say Bama was better than Mississippi State and Georgia on defense? By the way all of these SEC teams played each other for 8 games. and Mississippi State and Georgia football better. Everybody knew Bama was not strong on pass defense and Burrow threw for 180ish, but he couldn’t carry the team to get the backs going or the rush off his arse. Hence the big fat ZERO points again. Explain why everybody else scored on them? They were 33rd in pass defense based on what they gave up.

So what you’re saying is defensive stats against the same competition don’t matter. So throw out all the offensive stars as well. Hell, throw out scoring and give everybody a fricking participation trophy.
WTF- just leave you dumb frick.
99th. That was UCFs sorry arse defense ranking.

Yes, idiot, those simplistic D rankings are for simpletons like you.
Alabama has an All-NFL defense. All their starters have been or will be drafted along with a lot of their back-ups.
Eastern Mich
App St
Bowling Green
Tulsa
Cal
Southern Miss
^ALL these teams are in the Top-10 in your so-called passing defense rankings - not ONE of these teams had a drafted DB in the '19 draft.
You think Bama's D players bring their A-Game when they play The Citidel? Please. But you can bet your arse they bring it when they play LSU!
Your rankings are shite. And you are clueless

“not ONE of these teams had a drafted DB in the '19 draft”
Guess how many DBs were drafted from LSUs #1 ranked 2003 defense, that produced 2 multi All-Americans and 4 super bowl rings, in the 2004 NFL draft?.... NONE
To quote you again “you are clueless”

So, you're now claiming Citidel had a better offense in '18 than LSU??? LOL??
And tell your ankle-biter that 3 of the DBs from the '03 LSU team were drafted after '14 - a 1st rounder, a second, and a fourth.

^^^These "Top-10" pass defenses COMBINED have had 12 DBs drafted over the last 10 years.
Alabama ALONE has had 17 DBs drafted in the last 10 years.
Those simplistic "pass defense rankings" are shite!

Four touchdowns and throwing 394 yards wasnt bad at all for Joe Burrow. He made a mark for himself solidly, almost breaking the Fiesta Bowl's 451 record for passing yards? Thats impressive.

Nah, That game was just a great defensive performance by Aranda. The offense move the ball just enough not to blow it and didn't turn the ball over. Nothing spectacular.
Burrow had a 50% completion rate and he didn't throw any TDs. The offense was 6 for 19 on 3rd down conversions (not good). Luckily we were 4 for 4 on 4th down. The defense was playing lights-out and kept us in good field position all game which led to us getting 15 points off 5 FGs.

Oh no, I understood it. You were being sarcastic about whether it would have made a difference if O had made his desperation field goal against Bama, thereby tacitly admitting O's decision to even try it was fruitless.

Too bad it translated to more FGs than TDs.
