With the 09 defense? Our losses were by 10 or less and we had everything but a QB on offense.

uhhh, the 09 Oline was AWFUL. Ciron was banged up all year, T-Bob and Dworacyk were inexperienced (and undersized) first time starters that constantly got beat up on, and Hitt was also still a starter.

The offense is probably better with 5th year senior Ryan11 than Jordan, but that was Jordan's best year passing by far.

Now if we wanna talk everything but a QB, look at the 08 squad. I think that's a team Perilloux really could've helped. Even with the Malveto combo (I still think a lot of the defensive issues came from team chemistry/ morale issues).

But then who's to say in this scenario where Les keeps RP around despite his issues (which were more than what got out) that chemistry isn't hurt by him getting special treatment.

Matt Flynn wasn’t the only QB that won games for LSU in ‘07.

The reason we lost that Clemson game is because that was their N.C.at the time, and our players felt dupped and didn't even want to be there. Scored right off the bat and lost interest in beating a weaker lessor program, should have curb stomp em. And Les took his foot off the throats and let them back in. Lahoo-za-her

In light of his hypocrisy: at the time I was somewhat understanding of kicking Perriloux and Mathieu off the team because Les was supposed to be “one of the good guys” who valued character.

Honestly it was University policy that forced Miles hand on both of those occasions. Left to his own I'm not sure if the decision was up to Miles either would have been dismissed.

I am still nauseated we lost the 2012 Bama game.

All things considered, if Les wins any of those game/natties, we miss out on 2019 and frankly I am not ok with that.

I will be telling my grandkids about Joe BD Burrow, and the season we had.

Some moral infractions he forgave (sexual deviants protect each other apparently), but God forbid you smoke weed.

Yeah mr team vote wasn’t kicking those guys off if he could help it. He was happy to throw guys like Troy giddens and Kyle Anderson off though.

It's not irrational at all. He was not a good coach. He took over a ready made powerhouse and was able to surround himself with great players and solid assistants.

Anytime he hired a bad coordinator, it was a huge issue for us because Les himself could not make the necessary adjustments.

Another thing to consider about 2008,the pick 6 fiasco probably doesn't happen.

Georgia beat us by 2 TD's, we had 2 pick 6's. Bama beat us in OT, we had a pick 6. Who knows what happens in those games without that.

that's also my recollection. Mathieu had many failed drug tests, and Miles only acted when the University made him.

And, of course, the team vote on Jeremy Hill, which Miles knew would be to reinstate, and is a very weak way to do it.

I don't think Miles was much of a disciplinarian.

I mean, you could make the same argument against Orgeron. Surrounding yourself with great players and solid assistants is part of what makes a good coach.

solid assistants? Orgeron's coordinator/main coaching hires:

Canada (poor)
Ensminger (average)
Brady (exceptional)
Linehan (poor)
Peetz (TBD)

Pelini (historically terrible)
Jones (TBD)

He absolutely was not - he somehow garnered credit in some circles as such but again - as stated - in many cases University policy and not Miles were the reasons for player dismissals. Some were unable to distinguish the difference.

Yep Miles sexually harassing young ladies from a place of authority, all the school does is cover-up. Still not clear why Ryan kicked off other than smoking a plant and tardiness. TM for smoking a plant. So pathetic and frustrating of LSU for allowing this. Of course you still can’t smoke and play football at LSU. But other students can smoke all day and everyday(and they do). I guess LSU would rather allow non-income generating students to get high.

The clean and LSU washed version for Ryan was.

Nov of 06- Buying gas with counterfeit money
May 07- using a fake ID to board a gambling boat
November 07- suspended for Bama after a fight at the varsity
Just after the 08 Titie game- caught with drugs, missed classes and team meetings (multiple)
Failed 3 drug tests (weed) 2 stories of being caught with coke, once passed out in his car on I-10
Suspended 3 times for non drug related violations

I don’t think Mike’s made the decision on Matiheu at all.
He may not have made it on RP either.
