Revisiting Miles’ player dismissals

In light of his hypocrisy: at the time I was somewhat understanding of kicking Perriloux and Mathieu off the team because Les was supposed to be “one of the good guys” who valued character.
But now that we know he was actually a low-character fraud himself, it’s pretty hard to swallow that he probably cost us two natties (09, 12) for the sake of some illusory sense of virtue.

Miles couldn’t even control his own ego. You think he was in control of the compliance department?

Yeah I stand by to this day that 2012 team wins the National Championship with Honey Badger on that team. They went 10-2 in the regular season, you put Honey Badger on that team they either win the Florida game or Bama game if not both and are sitting 12-0, 11-1 with a possible chance at the SEC title game. Of course that team lost to Clemson by a point in its bowl game as well. I think if that team has Honey Badger they beat Bama that year, and would have been 11-1 or 12-0 playing for the SEC title. Win that game, you’re probably playing for a natty that season again.

Absolutely. Didn’t even need the Florida game but I think they win both.
Also imagine 2009 with RP as a junior - probably undefeated. Hell, 08 probably would have only been 2 losses, both Tebow raw dogging that Maleveto defense.

With the 09 defense? Our losses were by 10 or less and we had everything but a QB on offense.

K. Is there some magical potion he was going to take to win that bama game? Because he never showed much on the field at the college or pro level. Also, no guarantees he gets us wins against Arkansas or miss st that year

That team wins if they keep running the ball. Clemson had no answer for Jeremy Hill.

More toss dives, then?
I swear that some of y’all’s irrational hate for Miles is comical.

He keeps HB on the team then today the HB lives under I-10 overpass near Magazine Street. While the dismissal hurt the team, it saved the young man

Toss dive wins the Missouri game last year. Search your feelings. you know its true.

Mathieu’s dismissal was not a Miles call. It’s the drug testing policy at LSU that he has nothing to do with. Mathieu failed multiple drug test and a season long suspension was the punishment for it.

2012 team was loaded. Could have still won without mathieu it was all Les fault. The alabama game they would have won without miles dumb gambles. (fake fg, onside kick, wildcat on fourth and 1 when everyone knew that was coming) Les did not have confidence he could win straight up

Toss dive is not a bad play at all. The number of times Les Miles/Cam Cameron rant the toss dive was the issue.

More specifically, whenever they went hurry up you knew it was coming

No hate. Just strange that Les stopped running Hill when he was averaging over 10ypc on on 12 carries and never got a touch in the 4th Qtr.
LSU only had 219yds total offense. Hill accounted for 124 of that.

In hindsight we know he is a pos. However, if you watched the games he coached, he was a complete clown show and without a doubt cost LSU titles be it SEC or National. It amazed me how people could not understand LSU won games under miles because of pure talent and not his coaching ability.

Mett was on fire in the second half of that game. Bama shouldn’t have even got the ball back to have a chance at winning the game
