We've played UF yearly since '53 minus a few years in the late 60's. Big Rivalry minus the Spurrier years.

It's all relative to time. Yes I still think Ole Miss is a rivalry game but to say that Alabama, Florida, and Auburn don't consider us a rivalry is silly. Not their biggest rivals but still a rival.

At the SEC Media days, Mullen argued for getting rid of the permanent rivals. Now I do think that had more to do with competitive balance than rivalry, but it does place a value on it. If Florida had a choice, I think the olds, who have the power, would opt for GA, AU, and TN, if you were to limit it to three.

Can’t keep old rivals forever.

Sure it would be nice, but it isn’t realistic.

CFB is changing, superconferences are coming. We have to accept that some old rivalries will go away and new ones will form.

I hope they stick with divisions instead of pods... It just feels wrong to not be the West champ and taking on the bad guy from the East... No permanent cross division games... Play 7 and 3 and rotate everyone. Honestly, the only games in the entire conference that would be missed (assuming Bama and Auburn go east and Missouri goes west) will be LSU matchups.

Mullen's an idiot and not from the southeast. He doesn't understand the rivals down here. Also LSU has played Forida more times then Tennessee has played Florida.

Either Alabama or Florida. The Auburn game is a nice rivalry but people forget we didn’t start playing them annually since 1992. Same deal with the Florida-Tennessee game, which wasn’t an annual game until 1992.

That's been my concern about adding more western teams because it basically moves us into the Big XII. I'd rather stay with our original SEC members, but things change. We can still play Bama every four years or in the conference championship.

Who gives a frick? You will play everyone in a 4 year span. The way it should have always been.

Anyone trying to win the sec is our rival by definition.
