Respect for Gavin Guidry

Seems like every game, Guidry is by Jay’s side in the dugout, helping motivate and lead his teammates. It has to be brutal for him to have to just sit and watch, not being able to play and compete. I can’t imagine how much he wants to be out there. I feel for the kid, especially seeing him get emotional after clinching the trip to Omaha. Props to him for still contributing by being there to support this team.

He was given #8 for a reason. He’s lived up to the number even though he hasn’t been able to contribute on the field.

i posted on here when he was in HS....most impressed i was by him was his leadership when he was hurt. Never seen a kid embrace the role forced on him like that.

Nothing against Gavin at all. But why is he on travel/post season squad if he is hurt. I wish the whole team could go to Post season.

He travels bc JJ picked him to travel. He’s not on the playoff roster. He has value as a teammate in ways that benefit the team outside of playing and he offers support which obviously JJ wants near him and the fellas. Hope that helps you.

Gavin would get fired up after a good outing in the fall and the players responded. Jones also showed leadership but he isn't as emotional as Guidry. Evans shows the similar qualities and could be a leader next year
