I don't blame him. Who knows what will happen this year. He could possibly hurt his stock more than help it by playing.

Some of you people act like he owes it to you to play.

Not sure why some are not understanding why this is a bit upsetting. This is like quitting your job and walking out on the spot right before a big project is due that you were the lead on. Maybe it was best for you and your family, but it's still a dick move to walk out without notice and screw over your boss and coworkers who now have to scramble to pick up your slack.

Had a coworker do that to me once. I had a vacation coming up and his arse ups and quits with no notice. He and I were the only two trained to do what we did, so i was basically forced to cancel my vacation because we couldn't find a replacement without notice. I know why he did it.. He found a better offer. Makes sense. But his actions basically told me he didn't give a flying frick about me or anybody else. He knew I'd have to work overtime when he walked out. Lost all respect for him.

I understand not playing this year. However you should be required to return in 2021 if you want to enter the draft.

Well in this scenario that big project coming up lasts 4 months long and the outcome of that project could potentially hinder your ability to make money at your next job or to get that better job/pay at the next job

So for starters, stop trying to relate real life to big time football. It’s different. Their leverage is different. Their situations are different. It’s a completely different world than the one you exist in.

Also as a bonus life tip, that company you work for doesn’t give two rats asses about you or that coworker in the long run, and studies have shown employee loyalty drastically reduces/caps your potential earnings over time. So maybe his decision was ultimately one that he needed to make for him and his family. And yeah it’s selfish, but idk where we got the idea that you should never be selfish. This country is founded upon selfishness

2020 doesn’t count against your college eligibility. You shouldn’t be able to count it towards the draft.

I’m against the redshirt sophomore rule as well. Play at least 3 years.

The rule is made by the NFL, not the NCAA. There’s no correlation at all to the eligibility waiver for this season

He owes no one an apology. If we were in his shoes or had a son in the same situation, we would have done the same thing with or without outside influences.

Some people need to chill and stop being jealous. Thank the young him for his time at LSU and helping bring back the NCAA football ?? championship to Baton Rouge. Good luck ?? Ja’Marr Chase.

And that person, just like Chase, could've quit months earlier and saved everybody else a lot of headache.

The purpose of the comparison was strictly to illustrate that it puts all your coworkers/teammates and bosses/coaches in a huge hole. I think it's fine to illustrate that point.

Literally none of this has anything to do with my post. Just saying everybody is entitled to make life decisions, but there's also a respectable way of handling your business and a childish way. Nothing wrong with pointing out that it was handled poorly.

Except he isn’t getting paid, despite the university making money off of him.

Now he can go get a real job & Start getting paid

This worst thing an athlete can do is appear to not want to play. He just tanked the shite out of his draft stock. Total dumbass move.

I heard a month and a half ago from an ex skill position player at LSU who played a good amount of years in the NFL that Chase would be dumb to not opt out and he would for sure opt out this season. Chase as well as any other players guaranteed to be drafted. These players get all kinds of advice from ex LSU players who play(ed) in the league.

Every single draft eligible player with potential high draft stock should be opting out. He made the right decision. Might not like it for LSU but he is trying the best for himself and his family. It’s not his “job” to play for LSU. Comparing this to a job is ridiculous and saying he hurt his draft stock is laughable. We’ll see soon enough. Bunch of wankers.

I wish Ja'Marr well...

It's a free country....

do what you got to do...

We're not happy because we looked forward to seeing him play.

2020 has a lot of bad and a lot of good in it too...
