How about don’t accept #7 unless you’re going to honor it
Some of you guys really need to let the jersey numbers thing go

If it doesn’t mean anything to the players why do they accept it?
It’s not like it’s some fan fiction thing - players started it and have kept it going.

The rest of his quotes & his tone
I assume his tone makes it clear he was lying then?

How much does he re-reimburse LSU, coaches, and fellow players (especially the one who was throwing to him) for giving him a top-tier national stage to showcase his skills and increase his pro stock?

Never said it didn’t mean anything to the players. It’s a cool little tradition but at the end up the day it’s not a big deal

Players started it as like a “hey this is a cool tradition where we hand down a number to whose next”
Fans turned it into “frick this guy for wearing #7 and not living up to it!!!” Or “I cant believe the coach gave this guy 7 but not this guy!! bullshite!” And other dumb shite like that.
It’s simply not that serious.

What kind of pay raises did O and his assistants get off last year?

He already gave them a national championship and all the extra TV money that comes with it so let’s call it even

Then give up the scholly to someone who wants to play.
Wait...he still takes up a scholly spot even if he isn’t playing!?
That’s fricked up

Chase will open whatever floodgates there are going to be.

No one is losing eligibility for this season either way so it doesn’t really effect us in terms of roster numbers

Chase is in rare air. There’s not going to be a lot of dudes with as little to prove as him out there.

This just shows me once again how silly it is to be emotionally invested in college sports when I really have no connection to the team. I don't know any of the players and they don't know me. I graduated from LSU a long time ago. Sure it is fun to pull for a team and watch them win a lot of games. Sports can be a diversion from all the awful things life can bring us. But really?
Athletes have become more and more privileged and spoiled and have forgotten about who makes their fame and fortune possible. Oh, you know, I am talking about the fans.
We give the players so many breaks that the ordinary guy doesn't get. How many of them have gotten in trouble with the law but almost never suffer the consequence? Would the same be true of you or me? They get the finest buildings to live and work in. One of which is dedicated to nothing but to help them get their degree. They have great tutors at their beck and call but do they appreciate it. Oh I am sure some of them do but it seems that most of them have nothing on their minds but getting that pro contract and making money that way. The fact that less than 2 per cent of them ever do make a living playing sports doesn't ever seem to sink in.
So good luck Ja'Marr! The majority here will want to give you their loyalty and thanks. I am just one of the odd balls who want loyalty to be a two way street. And I sure hope you aren't one of the majority of NFL players who end up broke after their career because they didn't pay attention to the course on how to handle their money.

Shut up....
Why? I have even said I understand his decision just strongly disagree with the the timing. Anyone who has been part of a team whether its athletic or in business or in science or in any line knows that losing a point person is huge and even worse when a deadline is near approaching.
The reason he is in position to make millions is there are fans. The players are entitled to their opinions and are actively voicing their opinions and entitled to play or not play. I am entitled to my opinion on what that decision costs the team he leaves behind and the long term legacy of his year of production. It would seem that my opinion would be water off a ducks back or else he would not make the decision he is making. That’s fine by me. Somehow you think your opinion matters more because you are sucking up to him?

If O ever processed a kid on signing day or in August I hope the board would resoundingly have a problem with that. Hell people got pissed about Saban leaving on Christmas because that was too late. People would be frustrated with him sitting regardless but it’s amplified because we are a month from opening kickoff
