And I believe we all realized later he was working on zone D for the Alabama game. I’m wondering what he was working on during the second half vs Ole Miss. Could he be thinking ahead to Justin Fields? What do you guys think?

The defense just isn’t elite.
But most teams give up more points when they’re up 3-4 scores.

I doubt it. I think there's a simpler explanation. Coming off of the biggest week of their lives, bathed in adulation from the national media, and with the game out of reach at halftime, the defensive effort flagged. That's it. It wasn't scheme, and it wasn't talent. And before all of you keyboard warriors beat your chests about how YOU'D never give less than 100%, it's human nature.

no, you dont frick around in SEC games on the road when you are the #1 ranked team in the nation against your bitter rival.

You right firing you defensive coordinator during the middle of an undefeated season is a great idea and will in no way effect the team moving forward.

I get people thinking Aranda needs to be fired but what is the point of talking about it now?l during the season?

Here is the trend, do with it as you wish

This year
Vandy scoring 38 on us should send out alarms.
Texas 38, Bama 41, Ole Miss 37

Last year (except the OT game) NO ONE SCORED OVER 30.
in fact, only 2 scored over 20 and that was 21pts.

Yes they did, but following a solid year it was seen as a one-time thing then.

Now it is much too often.

This, combined with the fact that their rush offense is no joke and we are their Super Bowl.

The other team is trying to win too. We got out efforted mostly.

I agree with others who said it’s a good thing the off-tackle stretch type plays were tested before the playoff because both Clemson and OSU have that in their arsenal. Let’s get that shored up NOW.

I'm thinking Aranda is a clown....that's what I'm thinking. A 2.5 million dollar one.
