Please tell me the season Sean McMullen was recruited to be the "big stick" in LSU's lineup.

Jay’s first basemen might look a little different too with the old balls that didn’t go anywhere

Pulmonary used to have 1st basemen that looked like they would bunt for hits. Jay has first basemen with big ole gorilla bawls that they'll drag all over your forehead after hitting a HR off your best pitcher.
felt like the NCAA couldn't decide how they wanted the game of baseball to be played for much of PM time here. They killed the balls and bats and Maineri tried to combat that with small ball players.

You want to know how many total home runs the SEC hit as a league in 2014? 392. That’s an average of 28 per team. Yes 28. We hit 41. That was 2nd in the SEC. UGA, on the season, hit 13. Yes 13 total home runs. State hit 16. Most schools were in the 20s.

Name one.

Mason Katz, Tyler Moore, Bryce Jordan, Cade Beloso….if we’re talkin about height, I totally get what OP is saying.

No. You’re thinking of the second basemen, third basemen, shortstop, left fielder, right fielder and center fielder.

Which tells me the game as a whole changed in the conference. Whether that was due the ncaa or not, I don’t know

Mason Katz was 5'10" and weighed 188 lbs. Is that "tiny"?
Tyler Moore was 6'0" and weighed 195 lbs. Not tiny.
Bryce Jordan was not all that tall at 5'9" but he was never considered "tiny" because he weighed 203 lbs.
Cade Beloso was 6'0" and weighed 227 lbs. Not tiny.

And all those dudes could hit home runs. Katz was one of best hitters in the league in 2013

Our fans, in typical fashion, love to over exaggerate and have revisionist history regarding the size of our players under Mainieri.

Mainieri recruited little squirrels.

Avg Height (Position Players)
Mainieri LSU
~5’11.2”
Johnson (Zona + LSU)
~6’1.9”

Paul suffered through the 2011 bbcor / rosenblatt era with it's recruiting challenges until balls were modified. Jay joined Zona in '15around the time CBB started fooling with baseball stitches.

It’s hyperbole, it’s meant to be a joke. You guys are about as fun as a colonoscopy.

I’d argue that the dead ball era suited CPM more than a more offensive leaning game. Listening to him constantly refer to hitting and offense as luck kind of told you what he preferred.

In 2018, Austin Bain and Bryce Jordan played first.

This is your argument for Mainieri recruiting prowess? Neither of those guys would make a CJJ team.

are either of those guys small? That is what i was responding to. That's what this entire thread is about. But if you wanna go there, Bryce Jordan was 1st team All-SEC in 2016, so yeah I think he was ok.
