Remember the last game at old Alex Box when Skip had everyone shout into a plastic ball?

The new Box is nothing like the old and it'll never be. Very sad, but the way they designed it killed it.

Do y'all know what I miss about the old box. The left field concession stand tent had the grill running all game. Fresh hot burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches. None of this frozen premade packaged crap. A fresh hot burger mixed with us now being able to serve beer...

Absolutely, and if you walked out the left field gate into HR Village you could help yourself to some amazing cajun food courtesy of Mr Leroy and Sno-balls for the kids(and adults) from my Dad. It was a different time and place.
Funny csb. Skip did have someone come talk to my dad about actively advertising the free Sno-balls to fans walking TOWARDS the Box before games. A week later, a Kona Ice type stand popped up just inside the LF Gate.

To be fair, the New Box toyed with 3rd party food vendors a few seasons ago. Burgersmith sold burgers outside 3b line stands from a foodtruck nestled up to a service gate. And Under the concourse you could get Lava Cantina from a kiosk. Selling real burgers and real tacos/fajita nachos/etc priced about the same as shitty concessions, they killed it for the two seasons allowed in the Box.
So, obviously Aramark had em kicked out.

This isn’t the old box. It doesn’t have the charm.
An outfield berm student section would be so fricking legit. Just go to a few ole miss games and tell me that wouldn’t inject life into the Box.
They allow booze to be brought in, have grills out there, etc. It’s an all day party.

Yeps. The Friday Game was the only night Game that weekend so they did the fireworks after Game 1. Here ya go. Biggest firework display I've ever seen. They launched from Bernie Moore by the Field events area.
Note this was before camera phones. From 2001-2010, Friends and family use to laugh at me for carrying my little Canon digital camera everywhere I went. 12 years later, they can't pull this kinda awesomeness out their hat in 45 seconds from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

No. Lava and Burgersmith were gone by 2018. I'm fairly sure. I'd even say they were gone by 2017. Lava was still in business in BR when they were gone from the Box. I know that.
