Seems to be somewhat of a blueprint for finding young talent.

A. Former successful college QB that wasn't good enough for NFL (this might indicate that they're a product of a system and understand said system)

B. Either played or coached under great offensive minds

C. Have shown success at a smaller school running their own offense

Here are a few examples that come to mind

Scott Frost - Not good enough to be an NFL QB but played under Osbourne and spent some time at Stanford under Bill Walsh. Also spent time in the Oregon system

Major Applewhite - Part of the Urban Meyer/Tom Herman tree

Lincoln Riley - Played under Leach at Texas Tech

Josh Heupel - Played under Leach at OU

All are head coaches now but these are the type of guys you need to look for when they're young. And who cares if they use LSU as a stepping stool to get to be where they can be a head coach at a major program. Those are the type of people you want here. For the same reason you want guys that are good enough to be 3 and done and off to the NFL

Afraid I don't have any power

But it doesn't seem to be a particularly difficult trend to follow

Apple white isn’t great

Pretty mediocre when he’s on his own.

2007 Bama
Was Co-OC of some mediocre Texas teams
2017 without Herman or Briles to make sure the offense is good.

I remember him at Catholic High. Always seemed like a cocky douche who's an Alabama homer.

I'm available for half of what Ensminger earns (half what he's paid anyway).

I once coached a team of 12-14 year olds to a championship season in which we averaged 475 ypg and almost 40 ppg. I'm obviously qualified.

Sign me up as an analyst and I'll act as playcall coordinator.

That was tongue-in-cheek for the dense among us. The part about me coaching kids was true.

Well he is currently the face of a program Kendall Briles is running . Cause you can’t exactly hire a Briles to actually run your programs

That is a vastly superior outcome than perpetual faliure

And you can continually attract up and coming talent with that blueprint

You = terribly stupid

He's named after Major Ogilvie and grew up an Alabama fan.

I would take 2-3 years of a great offense and possibly a shot at an NC than stick with what we have and know we won't ever be able to beat Bama no matter our talent level on offense.

You would rather get, at best, average offensive production for 5-7 years than a great offense for 2-3. Where the frick do you come from??

As opposed to an old man who is in the twilight of his career? Are you serious?

He is probably an Alabama fan

No reason to turn down elite coaching talent because you're worried about them moving on.

Using that logic you should only recruit players not good enough to go to the NFL because they might leave after 3 years. He's a complete moron
