I think the issue is we still have burrow in our minds running this offense.
That's not it at all. Not one person expected Brennan to be Burrow, but he isn't a true freshman who has never taken snaps before either.

You can regurgitate his stat line all you want, Brennan looked like a deer in headlights yesterday, which is the cause for concern. Confidence isn't easily coachable.

elite teams don’t use the “growing pains” excuse. They recruit elite athletes and expect them to produce when called upon, even as freshmen.

. They did struggle last year.
bama struggling is 2 losses to LSU and a war with Auburn. Not losing to miss state.

Brandon Harris

The indecision, underthrowing deep balls, and throwing hard to catch bullet passes on short routes. Very much akin to Brandon Harris.

Yeah the defense was the bigger problem for sure.

Not like a les Miles offense with 115 yds passing.

But the real issue is we thought LSU might be on the Bama OSU Clemson level where they simply reload. Nope, LSU rebuilds.

Nothing I saw yesterday reminded me of Anthony Jennings or Brandon Harris.

Really?

It was deja Vu all over again for me.

3-4 drives of man this is awful followed by one drive where “hey maybe he is putting it together!” Only to be followed by more disappointment.

People keep saying that we lost so many players, but Ohio St returned 6 starters after the 2015 season and still went 11-1. They ranked 127th in returning production, and still went 11-1. They played #5 Penn St (11-3), #6 Michigan (10-3) #7 Oklahoma (11-2), #8 Wisconsin (11-3), and #24 Nebraska (9-4) with a 3 point loss to Penn St.

For comparison they returned 3 starters on offense compared to LSU's 2, and they returned 3 starters on defense compared to, well we only had one returning starter on defense for game one.

So while this is not something that usually happens, if you recruit well enough and have a good enough HC, you should fair pretty decent. The only game where Ohio St looked like garbage was vs Clemson who went on to win the national championship vs Bama.
