Intentional grounding has been called way farther out the tackle box before.
Considering there was a WR in the area, it doesn't matter anyway.

I have to agree! Coming up at halftime.
Was it teh uncalled Safety LSU Defense got?

Don't shoot the messenger I'm glad we left with a win, but UGA has a legit beef. That call changed the outcome of their play-calling. I hate SEC refs!
You mean the play calling when they cheated and loaded up the side they kicked to with too many men? And they still couldn't stop Trindon when they had a chance?
The penalty had less of an effect on our field position than what Georgia absolutely did wrong on their own.

That's my point. Whining about the refs in that context is ridculous. 2006 AU was one thing, this is another.

Which one of you goofy motherfrickers was even at the fricking game?

All three excessive celebration penalties were ridiculous calls.
This. LSU was called for the same shite.

I don't remember there being a WR remotely near where the ball was headed, but maybe I need to watch it again.

what does being at the game have to do with anything

I agree that it was the right call, but damn, I didn't notice the WR standing in the end zone by the sideline.

It was enforced on the kickoff. IF It was a fourth down conversion, if it was i would buy it. But we had a great return and scott would have kept running anyway?? Does the penalty mean scott gets stoped at the LOS????
People on this board are too defensive. The penalty caused a change in the kickoff which made it easier for a better return from Holliday. You would think posters would be glad we finally caught some breaks from the refs tonight.
It helped. Accept it. Get over it. No big deal.

but LSU catches the brunt of it b/c we actually were able to capitalize off of it
It's not our fault that UGA couldn't capitalize on it. We got the ball with 1:09 I believe and after we scored UGA had like 48 secs or so ... we scored in a shorter time than they had.
YES, I think that the celebration penalties were ridiculous but it's not our fault that we capitalized on it and they didn't.

There was. I think he just threw it up to nowhere in particular, but it did so happen that in the area he threw it, a WR was there.

LOL, pitiful coverage by ESPN. Sure, completely ignore the 40 yard kick return + illegal formation penalty. Ignorant fricks.

Face it, people just don't like louisiana
Exactly. LSU never get favorable coverage on some networks. If this had been Fla, bama or USC then it would have been all about grit and winning a tough game on the road. Similar to how LSU had to apologize for not blowing out UW and USC gets a pass because they normally lose to lesser teams.

frick Reese & the rest of 'em.
Sold this LSU team as short as they could fit into the time they had to talk about the game.
LSU "escaped" with another one, you say? Hey frickhead...UGA was favored at home!

the call was BS,
True, but the 40 yd. kick return wasn't.
Georgia's illegal formation wasn't.
Charles Scott's TD run wasn't.
The celebration penalities were crap but, what can you do?
Posted on 10/3/09 at 8:33 pm to ready4something
frick espn, they can eat a dick

Georgia had the same exact advantage and didn't use it, we did. So ours didn't help us over Georgia since they had the same situation and didn't capitalize. We actually played well on kickoff coverage and didn't committ a penalty. If Georgia had done the same they might have won, bottom line.
