Rece did get too agitated by that conversation. Do I disagree the jury is out? Hell no, but he was a bit over the top.

Hires new ones?

His hiring record is probably better than his recruiting record even though he has won multiple recruiter of the year awards over the last two decades.

Considering at Ole Miss he gave two coaches their first ever college coaching jobs - Frank Wilson and Hugh Freeze and the hires he has made at LSU I don't see why people melt over this.

We hired a head coach that promised in his interview he wouldn't coach offense or defense

I totally missed this. Can you please post a link to the audio of the interview. Thanks !!!

Think about that.

What, the fact that you are making shite up and trying to pass if off as fact? Nope, I've got REAL stuff to think about.

Ed Orgeron doesn't have a resume that would warrant an interview for the LSU job, much less actually being hired for it

Says people who haven't noticed college football existed since over a decade ago.

The guy proved while coaching LSU last season what he can do. Why would someone have to be stupid enough to have read a resume?

It was clearly more about not being a fan of a perceived placement of higher value on assistant coaches over the Head coach than it was simply being upset that O is the coach.

Coach O haters - day one and you want him to fail. He is the head coach. If you want him to fail, then you want LSU to fail. All of this hate on day one makes no sense to me. At this point, you asshats need to step away from the keyboard and roll out to your Antifa meeting.

When you claim to be a top 10 program

Don't keep up with college football do you? Go to ESPN college football and click the rankings tab. Check out the final rankings the last 5 years and report back how many times LSU has finished in the top 10. There are a lot of SEC schools who have finished in the top 10 since LSU has - Ole Miss, Missouri, A&M, etc, etc, etc.

Hmmm, 6-2 last year with a TE's coach running the offense. Went out and hired a Broyles Award finalist and the #9 scoring OC in the country to run said offense. Yeah, I hope no one takes him seriously. Missouri, Ole Miss, TX A&M, Arkansas and others take it very seriously. They lost to Coach Eaux with the TE's coach running the offense.

The whole issue is Pollack said your coordinators are more important than your head coach day to day. Your OC spends every day with the QB - the head coach doesn't and isn't usually in the QB film room, etc.

Last year was Aranda more important than Les or O? Yes.

Rece Davis was dead wrong.

Has anyone noticed, or thought about, when Orgeron was interim at the all mighty USC a few years ago, ESPN make a huge production of how USC was wrong for not hiring him as THE coach?? They raved about how influential he was in inspiring that team & winning?? I thought I remember them making a big deal out of it. But....when LSU hires the same guy, it's the "wrong hire", "what was LSU thinking", "boy, LSU will be lucky to win 8 games."
If you don't think there's a West Coast bias, & that ESPN nitpiks on LSU, then I don't know how else to convince you.

Yep

Successful hiring managers don't just focus in a resume. You must also consider long-term potential, work unit chemistry, etc. I am giving JA the benefit of the doubt and time will tell.

You can't believe the rant and the whiners are 50% of the fanbase. If it were, season tickets wouldn't be sold out and a nice long waiting list exist.

Hmm lost at home as a 14 point favorite with a NY6 game on the line.

I didn't say we were a top 10 program, but we have the facility, recruiting and pedigree to be top 10. This hire was a crossroads and on paper we screwed it up. Really hope I'm wrong, but don't have a good feeling.
