He earned it against uga and probably practiced well. Remember in Saban’s last game all 3 QBs saw the field. They made it a point to give Flynn a series after bowl practice

He has not played well for the most part. He leaves too many plays unmade. Too many.

BK just told everybody JD is the QB1 what more do you people want LOL

I'm not sure what the practices looked like before 2022 season kicked off but I think JD5 got the job specifically for his running ability and speed. CBK knew the state of the OL with true freshman and inexperience on the OL, he would need a scrambling QB.
I think that was the driving factor.
100% this!!
JD was invaluable in that role.
Now that we have a more seasoned front, the situation is more equal between JD and Nuss.
I trust Kelly to make the right decision - but I can still pull for what I think is a better showing.

All he did was politically kick the can down the road. I expect he will leave the drama into the fall too. He can keep this decision or change it anytime he chooses.

Even the biggest Nuss fan boys have to admit that the Georgia defense was not playing up to their potential in the second half and did not blitz the QB at all. Nuss still made some great throws and deserves to play some in my opinion but to think he was going up against a full press defense in that game is just being dishonest.

LSU is #9 in FEI rankings so I'd say yes, he runs an efficient offense.
LINK
This is saying LSU is extremely efficient on drives with JD at QB which makes sense. They put points up and he doesn't turn the ball over much. It doesn't have to be super pretty to be efficient if you're ending drives with points.
Also, it's backed up by JD's performance on the season sitting very nicely in LSU's record books. This board would have you think we had Anthony Jennings back there throwing the ball every down.

The running game would open up because defenses have to back off more to respect the pass
True statement.
But having a running QB does two things if the offense is run correctly. A mobile QB can also open up the running game because there is another running threat on the field for the defense to account for (think how the triple option works). It also opens up the passing game because someone generally has to spy the QB freeing up passing space (generally across the middle).

You think they are ever going to stack the box with Nuss as QB? Never gonna happen.

JD was clearly still not 100% in the Purdue game.

Just wish he wasn't so up and down.
Don’t we all. He had flashes of being a really good QB this year but then turn around and look bad.
Some of that could be chalked up to new team, new system, etc, etc but honestly I think JDs problem is mental due to former coaching he received. As I’ve explained before, JD was probably the best athlete on every team he’s been on prior to LSU. I can see coaches pulling him off to the side and drilling it into him that “it’s all on you. If you don’t feel comfortable throwing to our receivers, tuck it and run” because their receivers were nowhere near the caliber we have atLSU. I think he’s got to overcome that. Can he? Hopefully our staff can get it out of him.

You do realize that Jayden Daniels was pretty much our entire offense, right? And that if Nuss started this season we would have had zero running game? I fail to see how less overall offense gives us a better chance to win
Had Nuss been playing I PROMISE safeties and Lbs would be forced to back up and spread out, thereby making it easier to run the ball.
For as good as JD is at running, having the defense think about the vertical passing game would make this offense a LOT better

Maybe he was doing Nuss a solid by giving him another platform to showcase his abilities? Knowing he’s going to transfer, he’ll be able to get a better landing spot.

No he was not fine and if you think he was 100% you're blind. He played in the Georgia game hurt did he not? Obviously medical cleared him to play and they're not going to do anything to risk his career but that doesn't mean you only play 100% otherwise most players would be sitting out consistently.
You need go flip the film on again. He was much slower than average turning corners and he certainly didn't have his top end speed. 100% JD would've absolutely torched Purdue in that open field run. He got caught from behind. Not happening.
Nuss played more because JD was obviously hurt but I'm sure he told coach he wanted to risk it because he wanted to compete so they ran 2 QBs just like he played hurt against Georgia on 1 foot.

You mean a game that actually mattered?
Why did he play after we were up by 5 touchdowns if injured?
BK felt good about Nuss after the UGA and wanted to give him more live reps. Simple as that.
You've completely fabricated this theory out of thin air
