I have a feeling that a Nuss style of QBing will lend itself to more complementary football. One stat that can shed light on the lack of complementary football on offense is time of possession. In all of LSU's losses they lost the time of possession. With Nuss behind center it forces everyone around him to up their game and it gets more players involved, running and receiving.

When our offense can hold on to the ball and when special teams is playing better in terms of making long field goals and pinning them deep on punts it helps our defense. And Lord knows, the defense needs all the help they can get.

Don’t think the offensive style is why we lost TOP. Literally, defense can’t get off the field at all. Nuss is a slinger, it’s literally his best throw. If a WR gets behind anyone, it’s a quick score.

Ummm no. We lose time of possession because our defense can't get off the field on 3rd down.

He plays quite well when he doesn’t try to “force it.” See the Georgia game last year

The issue is there isn't a game where he doesn't try to "force it". That's the risk/reward you take with him.

On his very first drive vs. Georgia he threw some passes into some pretty tight windows. Particularly the TD. Those were some "risky", maybe forced passes. But because he was able to execute it quickly turned into a TD. Two drives later he threw another "risky" forced pass into a tight window. It was intercepted.

It's a lot like Brett Farve. He's willing to throw passes most QBs won't. That boldness will lead to some incredible TDs. That boldness, however, will also lead to some unnecessary interceptions. He has to find a way to hit the middle ground. You never want a QB who is hesitant to be great (that was the ENTIRE post 2008 approach of the Miles offense). But you don't want a guy who will just chuck it up regardless of how many defenders are in the area. Nuss will do that too.

He has 174 passes. Name another backup QB in LSU history that had anywhere close to 174 passes before he started a season at LSU?

Looks like the rest of the season could now come down to a guy that has barely any real game experience

BK is making it sound like there’s a good chance Daniels could play.
