Now let’s talk about the people that are being overlooked....Tyrion Davis-Price will have a break out season

If LSU can establish a run game ....it will obviously take a lot of pressure off of Brennan

This was before Chase, et al dropped out. There’s no way LSU will be top 3 in SEC. There’s going to be some disappointed fans this year, the expectations are far too high.

Where every SEC team ranks on ESPN’s returning production chart for 2020

As a LSU fan and not national media, I can't believe you guys don't think the offense can be great again THIS year. Now i personally expect elite, but you don't even think top 3-4 SEC?

I can see Bama, UF, and LSU in the top 3. Miss St could be if they let Kylin Hill run.

Check out TAMU's returning production. Outside of Mond, the freshman RB and Wydermyer, its a complete mystery and they don't have offensive weapons like we do. I'll gladly state right here and now that Brennan will be better than Mond this year.

Ole Miss should be good at running, but their passing game shows nowhere on roster that it could compete.

Bo Nix is the key to Auburn. If he improves, Chad Morris will have that offense in the top 3 no doubt, but it's a mystery just like LSU.

Arkansas, Mizzu, USCe, UK, Vandy, LMAO.

UT and UGA, don't see it from either being higher than 5th or 6th.

You guys still vastly underestimate the talent LSU possesses on offense. Retuening production doesn't mean squat if you're returning a bunch of mediocre players, or returning them to outdated offenses.

This has to be one of LSU's least experienced teams in many decades. It will be very interesting to see how our team develops.

They are not that inexperienced. Every OL has started a game. The WRs have played plenty. RB has snaps in tense SEC & playoff games

Brennan lacks experience & Gilbert is a freshman, but playing time for the rest isn’t the real issue. It’s playing together & coaching

And yet no one thinks Alabama will miss a beat at all what so ever. Even though they are replacing their best qb of all time and their #1 wr.

I’m not saying we will repeat what we did last year but if you are going to knock LSU for the lack of returning production, why not Bama as well?

I in no way think it’ll be like the putrid offense of most of the past decade, but my dudes... we’ve witnessed the best offense LSU will ever have in this iteration of the game of football. Last year was extraordinarily special and I hope we all enjoyed it, because we likely won’t see anything close to that again anytime soon, if ever.

I’m as optimistic a person as you’ll meet, but I’m
also realistic. The offense is going to take a step back and to have success we really need a defense of old to make up the difference. The good news is the offense was SO good last year, that even at 75% of that output, we’ll still have a top 25 or so offense.

To expect anything close to last year, though, is setting yourself up for disappointment. Joe Burrow ain’t walking through that door.

The running game should be fantastic. I expect a strong OL if they can stay healthy.

That’s ridiculous but ok

Any position like WR/DB where you have packages with 4, 5, maybe 6 of those guys on the field at the same time — the bottom end of the depth chart is not getting neglected.

We’ve got depth and talent there. Chase was a freak, but it’s not an insurmountable setback.

If Marshall & Gilbert stay healthy, that’s already a lot to account for. McMath is probably a bit overlooked. And I’ve always liked Palmer as a dark horse in the slot.

Hard to say what it’s going to look like in action. I’m expecting them to be very good — the main point is that ppl have to appreciate what you’re actually replacing in Burrow.

CEH too in terms of a Swiss Army knife. Not just a pure runner.

Or

Marshall/McMath/kirklin????

Of course they got worse. This isn’t even for debate

No one had 2019 expectations for the 2019 offense. But guess what? Coach finally brought a for real offensive system to LSU. One that would take advantage of the elite players we get.

To say we will be just like 2019 may not be reasonable. But we ARE going to kick arse. There are elite guys everywhere on offense. The oline will be as good as last year.

Don't be a Chicken Little. Be ready. Cause we aren't comin' we here.

I’m not saying they don’t lose anything with Chase out. I’m just saying I think the WR group will be just fine.

How much do you think Chase out for a game last year would’ve affected a point spread vs Burrow out for a game lol

I’m most anxious to see how Brennan runs an offense & operates under pressure. We have been steady stacked at WR for years — I’ve no reason to doubt those guys, and it’s one of those positions where it’s not uncommon to see young guys have immediate impact.

Kirklin might be listed at 3 on exp/seniority + reps with Brennan. But I bet we see more Boutte & Palmer than ppl are anticipating by second half of the season.

You word for word said they won’t miss a beat

You’re essentially trading the best WR in LSU history for Jontre Kirklin. Or Palmer or Boutte ir whomever.

You clearly will be missing a beat

I’m by no means in panic mode. I’m just saying I didn’t think it was possible to underestimate the value of Burrow/CEH, but watching their pro debuts has put my jaw on the floor.

Bama has 46% of its offensive production returning, LSU had 30% - then Chase left. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an offense return so little of its previous year’s production as LSU this year.

Do you not remember the difference in first year starting to next year for guys like Burrow, Chase, and Jefferson. It makes a huge difference.

I don’t have the time nor the concern to study 14 SEC rosters; I’ve just seen enough college football in my life to know this team will struggle offensively.
