Maybe we need to start a thread on this topic ever 30 minutes until we get an answer.

I bet Stud would come back, similar production and he wouldn't mind a one and done...at least we wouldn't go completely in the shitter with a 1 year experiment.

no one was complaining about Cam in 2013. Record setting offensive year. He didn't forget how to call a game. The whole issue is at QB with a drop off at Oline. Sometimes you miss on prospects. It stinks when it is at the most important position on the field.

Were people complaining about Crowton in 2007? What a stupid reasoning that based off one good initial year, he is a savior.

Hanny said that his contract was rejected so I see him as gone. Miles has had a lot of OC's in his time here.

you are correct. no decent OC will leave a stable program, and take his chances that his next job will last longer than one year. Les is stuck now. The only thing that was keeping him above water in the past was defense. now he doesn't even have that.

How bout any OC In the country that will help the OC practice screens, slants, drop off passes. Tight End routes. Cameron costs to much money for what he hasn't done. Remember we should be making the QB serviceable to our needs not making them NFL ready

alleva is a big part of the problem. can anyone name an ad that has refused a contract to the dc and oc in consecutive years. that doesn't happen at a top program.

You gotta love when all you guys get on here and act like you have inside information

OP has zero proof of anything. If your only sources are the radio jocks and this board- you really should not start a thread like this-

My thought is that Alleva has told Miles that Cameron is not coming back.

Let me guess: you have some double deep insider giving you all of this information?

What gave it away? The subject itself that is labeled "reading between the lines?"

You really shouldn't complain about speculation that is labeled as speculation. And you really shouldn't think that you have a good point when you point out that admitted speculation isn't confirmed.

While you are reading b/w the lines, keep in mind that you are dealing w a lame duck situation. Cameron's position no different than Chavis' was ultimately.

Miles and Alleva haven't significantly spoken since 2009. I laughed at Guilbeau's comments yesterday about Alleva not showing up for a meeting Miles set up. No shite.

Just as Miles had to settle for Steele, he will have to settle for a new OC, unless he doesn't survive after this season. Miles was given the most expensive staff in the nation. Administration decided to stop throwing money at the problem.

I think everyone, even Miles, would like to have seen him go out on his terms on top after next season, but that appears to be highly unlikely at this point. To answer your question, I think Cameron would keep his job for Miles' last season, if he were willing to accept a one year deal at a reduced salary, or if Miles were willing to throw in the difference. Obviously, that is JMO.

Does it really matter? Les will be given next year to win big and that's it, if he survives this year. They aren't gonna give an OC a big contract if they don't know how long the head man will be there

What big time OC will sign on for a year?

a guy that wants LSU on his resume, and really he shouldnt give a flying shite what Miles says to him. Id call whatever I want to call if I know my destiny is in my hands..Miles wont be able to control him if what he calls is successful. Because Miles's arse will be on the line as well. It would make him look that more incompetent if he had to fire another OC, plus my god look at our freakin weapons! You get to come in with a Heisman candidate, A QB that can sling the shite out of it and is mobile, and about 4 WR's that can flat out fly. with an oline bigger than most in the SEC.. Any half arse OC in the country would nut in their pants to have half what cameron has...

quote:

This guy gets it!! Also, what OC would want to come here just to be hand cuffed? The draw obviously is #7 and co, but if you can't call the plays you want, what's the point? Then, your name gets attached to not being able to win with #7. Screw that.

see above.

What about an OC that doesnt give a shite and wants the opportunity to coach some of the most talented players in the country for a year...plus not all OC's make what we pay them... I could find a dII OC that would put up gawdy numbers at a pay raise from his last school to take a shot in the SEC and boost his credibility for one year..

The last one who left said he did so because Les would not let him control the Offense (I talked to Crowton's relative at the airport after the A&M game at Texas stadium).

I saw great improvement between years one and two with the club-footed Mettinberger we had a couple years ago. I've seen creative plays this year, they are just not being called. Les is the common denominator IMO.

Sounds perfectly simple to me. Please tell me why 5 OCs have not done this.

I don't know but I would love see LSU hire Cincy's OC. Cincy has a top 10 offense and that would be a break from the traditional Miles hire.

Why would Cameron need to accept a reduced salary?

We have scored only 30 points in the last 10 quarters of sec play and you think Cameron is a good OC, DUH.
