How does reading the opinion of others take the fun out of the victory? I enjoyed the game immensely, but I'm not foolish enough to believe that LSU doesn't have areas that need to be improved if we expect another "special" season. I enjoy discussing what I saw, and I also enjoy debating the various aspects with other Ranters (no matter how retarded the opinion). If I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't waste my time on this site.

If reading the posts "takes the fun out of the victory", I would suggest spending your time elsewhere.

I have access to Chicken's files. I know this about the posters on the rant.

47% never played football AND have no clue about game strategy. They always follow the ball on every down because they wouldn't know what to look for if they looked anywhere else. Spend a lot of time talking to the person sitting next to them during the game and often miss plays because of that.

23% have played football but basically went through the motions because they didn't understand the game. They criticize every dropped pass, every misthrown ball, every missed tackle and every play that is called that doesn't gain a min. of 7 yards. Analyze the crap out of the game before, during and after the game.

10% are just negative, angry people who are mad at the world. Pros out calling out players, coaches and other ranters.

20% are knowledgeable fans of football because of or regardless of prior football playing experience. Logical, reasonable and have substance.

Perfect season for a ranter is go 14-0 , win the NC and then fire the coach

Only if you give them that kinda control/power over you.

It was a big win away from home over a Top 3 team after 2 weeks of crap and with the team playing without some starters.

We have to get better in our passing game, but LSU won the biggest game of the opening weekend of college football and it doesn't get any better than that. imo

Its quite simple.

Certain posters staked their reputation on a certain QB (for whatever reason), so when LSU wins easily, without the glaring offensive issues of the past, against a highly ranked team; it brings into question their motives and knowledge of football.

They in turn lash out to defend what can no longer be defended.

Thank you. Man all these freaking threads are driving me crazy man let's try and talk about some topics but you guys are starting so many of them we can't talk about anything. Some of you fans would be pissed off if we won the game 100 to 0.

Y'all must live miserable lives to have to bitch about a HUGE victory for our program.
Why do you think so many LSU fans drink to excess? A very large % ARE miserable and drink to deaden the pain of what their everyday existence is.

In the case of the "Tards of the Rant", most of the high school/college kids that make up the majority on here are negative oriented complainers because they don't have girlfriends. Lack of sex will make you bitter and angry.

They are spoiled with great QB play from Drew Brees, that anything less than a Drew Brees like performance by Lee or any LSU QB is unacceptable.

LSU fans have been bitching and whining about wins for as long as I can remember (Arnsparger days) and probably since the first LSU football game. A long time before Drew Brees.

Ehh I'm still psyched that we basically not only beat them...but more like 20 points beat them. The last touchdown was insignificant with our 2nd and some 3rd string defense. Lee had points of greatness. The running game did very well, and defense and special teams were spectacular! I'm super pumped about this season! LES GEAUX! Or should I say LES GUAUX!

We just beat the shite out of the #3 team in the country.....not to mention the fact they were in the BCSNC game in Jan. We impressed the nation, and the media... Our defense played a GREAT game, and I think the coaches put together the offensive gameplan fine. We did everything that we wanted to on both sides of the ball.
This spells it out. If some people here can't see this and celebrate, sorry for 'em. But me, I'm still high as a kite, celebrating this early defining win for the 2011 season - it's right up there for me with that first big win over favored UGA in the 2003 MNC season.

More to come.

Or the flip side where those who staked everything on the fact that the offense would be great and world would be perfect if only Lee played.

Thread after thread going over every throw and telling us the receivers can't catch, Lee never threw a pass behind anyone they were all exactly on target, and throwing off the back foot is the plan not a result of not following thru.
