4-6 are interchangeable, but this should be the top 8. If Auburn make a run to the tourney title game, you can throw them in there as interchangeable as well.

Find it interesting that Jay has yet to win 20 SEC games during his tenure. Twice winning 19 in the regular season.
Prolly would have got 20 in 2023 had it not been for the rainout at South Carolina. Also, should have easily got 20 this year but I believe Jay uses the regular season to develop and test pitchers instead of going all out to win every single game like Van Horn and Vitello do. They were pretty damn good in the 2023 ncaa tournament after a few certain pitchers weren’t used unless it was a blowout.

With OSU losing series 4-0 to Oregon and Oregon winning Big 10, I think they wrapped up a #7 or 8 seed. OSU season is over and they won’t jump anyone. Only team I see at risk is Auburn losing out on top 8 and FSU jumping in taking their spot if they go on a run in the ACC tourney and Auburn has an early exit in the SECt.

Last week they had us #1 and #2 overall seed and this week #1 and #7 overall seed. I think the ridiculous part is the assumption last week the committee wouldn’t penalize us and now they will when the only thing that changed between last week and this week was:
D1Baseball has a podcast where you can listen to how they got there even if you disagree.
It wasn’t a shot at LSU, it basically started as “Wait, Auburn swept LSU and has better metrics.” Georgia swept Auburn which leapfrogged them over Auburn.

Even if that happens I still doubt it. They are 14th in RPI, lost 2/3 to UF. I doubt they put 2 ACC teams in there. They get a double bye in the tourney and at best play UL who's 29th in RPI. Even if they then beat UNC in the semis, they still lost the series to them in Tallahassee.

But why does that all of a sudden matter this week
