Um no...saban is best and nobody will deny that. There is absolutely no comparison between these 2 arguments.

The team this year has been very poor at the plate but somehow we are still in excellent position to win the league.

Our average is in the bottom half of the league but we are best in number of strikouts with only 187. By comparison Florida has 241, Bama has 265, UGA with 306!

So when you don't strike out, it gives you plenty of sacrifice chances. We are 4th in Sac Flies, 3rd in Sac bunts, 2nd in RBI, 5th in Doubles, 2nd in Triples, 4th in Walks.

What that tells you is we have been clutch when needed, we get a lot of extra base hits which makes it easier to drive in runs, and we have a lot of sacrifice scoring opportunities because we don't strikeout.

All of that makes up for a poor batting average and its why we are 2nd in runs scored.

Does anyone think it's possible that one year lsu could get lucky by getting good players that WANT jot play for lsu, not because of a coach? If recruiting is a big ideal in college ball please explain the draft to me... I'll be here all day

If recruiting doesn't really matter, PM shouldn't waste his time recruiting and just let all the walk-ons that actually "want to play for LSU" play. I'm sure LSU would be just as good.

Really why not?? Yall are saying paul.is the best and yalls proof is his stats are better. Well Miles is or was better than all SEC coaches in stats so in your world he is the best coach in the SEC. You say it doesn't relate but it does and it also makes you and your argument look dumb.

1. Corbin
2. Mainieri
3. Cohen
4. O'Sullivan
5. Van Horn

It's very close between Corbin and Paul for #1...I could go either way

Saban 4 NC at 2 different schools > Miles 1 NC

# of National Championships is the most important stat in college football.

I try not to argue with someone who has so few posts, all of which are basically just inane banter.

The reasoning and logic is the same lol. Saban's resume and "stats" are better than anyone's and its not really close.

Oh your so cool dude. So you throw out one stat that caters to your point. Typical tiger dropping nerd. Who has best overall winning percentage?? Does that stat matter at all or will that null your point in which you will correct spelling or say post count isn't high enough or just say something jr high totally off topic.

Close to my list. I have the same 5 in a different order.

I think his NCAA tournament record puts Mainieri above Tim Corbin.

1. Mainieri
2. Corbin
3. O'Sullivan
4. Cohen
5. Van Horn

I think this would be my list as well.

And to add to this you cannot separate a coach, recruiter, game coach, evaluator & decision maker. They are one in the same and all coaches have their strengths and weaknesses. Because of all they have to do a college baseball head coach has a much harder job than mlb managers.

But because of this you can't compare them or state that a college coach would be successful or a failure on the majors.

PM is a great college coach because he has been exceptional at all of these different facets.

Good point. Since coaching in the SEC, Saban 83% > Miles 80%.

Career, Saban 74% > Miles 73%

Solid topic change in a thread about baseball troll. Trying to troll two subjects in one thread to keep it going?

So wrong. Saban overall winning g percentage is .840 while miles is .798. Miles has coached 25 more games than saban in Sec. Bama strength of schedule is not even close as you say to ours. Overall sec winning percentage miles is barely ahead of saban even though he did coach more games yet he's strength of schedule compared to saban makes it look like they are in different conferences. So again your point on one subject is totally different when it suits your opinion. Miles has better stats but we all would rate him not the best coach. Paul has best stats yet in yalls eyes that proves he's the best.

I love nerds

I agree. LSU lost the Stony Brook series primarily because of a slow outfield. Mainieri changed his recruiting tactics and now we have one of the best defensive outfields in the country.

LSU had issues developing pitchers, and attracting a stable of great pitchers. Paul brings in Dunn and look at the pitching staff now.

LSU has defensive concerns at SS... Enter Nola who locks the position down for 3 and a half years. Issues at 3rd base, enter Hanover.

Wait, so we are blind homers for choosing Mainieri yet you are going to argue that Miles has had more success than Saban?

That confirmed it for me. Troll.

Illogical and baseless arguments with no supporting evidence. Constantly repeating of the same thing over and over again. Posting with odd capitals (MAiNiERi) over and over again because he copy and pasted a name he couldn't spell. Attacking other posters. Changing the subject when being asked to answer questions or respond to the OP. Clearly a troll.

You're a dumbass because there are no "coaches" in the major leagues? Players in the MLB do not need to be coached up. Thy need to be managed. Tell me how they are one in the same? Jackass
