Carl Reese was the DC who left for Texas when DiNardo was coaching. John Symank had become an administrator by that point.

Broadhead - woke the monster and hired Bertman, Gunter, Arnsbarger, Seemes (who won a Natty that kicked-off Henry the next season)

Dean - Saban, Henry, TAF

Alleva - O (throwing up), Wade

Bertman - Miles, let Pat Henry walk.

Woodward TBD

Loved Dean as a broadcaster but he was a terrible AD.

Can we stop with this horseshite?

Let’s say it’s even true that Saban wanted to leave the dolphins and come back to LSU, which we don’t know.

Imagine FIRING Les Miles after these 2 seasons:
2005: 11-2(7-1 sec), SECCG berth, top 5 finish, navigated Katrina season(played 11 games in a row)
2006: 11-2(6-2 sec), Sugar Bowl win, top 3 finish

How the frick does anyone make this move? Saban was not even present day Saban either, which people don’t take into account.

Dean held the job but Emmert made the hire. No different than an owner who bypasses his general manager to sign a player.

Bertman followed Dean which made Bertman look like an all-star.

I don't remember Broadhead at all so....

1. Woodward
2. Bertman

tied for last...Dean/Alleva

don’t care that Dean was turning a profit. We sucked at the important sports, except for baseball, which didn’t require much funding at the time.

Well, the reason LSU had any financial problems were because LSU had an idiot head coach in Hallman and Half Empty Tiger Stadium. Ticket sales were in the toilet.

Regarding Baseball, Skip went outside the Athletic Department and went to his own boosters he developed because Joe Dean wouldn’t and/or couldn’t help Skip do what needed to be done to turn the Baseball Program around. Skip did most of that on his own.
That is a fact.

When the LSU Athletic Department was in financial tight spot all Joe Dean did was cut every sport across the board by 10%. He was no financial genius. He was an moron.

He gets credit.
Y’all need to look at who Dean had as a university president.

Woodward

He didn’t do anything to date. Hell Alleva hired O who brought the greatest team in LSU history despite all his limitations.

No. Emmert let Dean save face and hired Saban himself. Saban would not have been at LSU without Emmert getting involved. That is simply the truth.

Hey DBG IDGAF what LM`s record was we all knew LM was
a goomba.NS was and still is a generational coach. If Skip
makes that decision we would be ALA.and would have won
8 titles by now.Short term criticism leads to long term
success.
