Same here. Cam Newton compeltely changes that team. I had us at 10-2, but I was dead wrong on Auburn.
god I wish i could find my post from the spring, I nailed the cam thing....I knew that fricker was gonna turn Auburn into a contender...

The I told you so people last year and the year before were reveling that their lack of faith in our players and coaches was born out on the field. It was unbecoming.
Saying I told you so in the opposite way this year is perfectly fine. We should all be reveling in our team's success. Even more enjoyable if you were not a member of the catastrophy syndrome fan base that helped create an aura of negativity around the program (that in part is leading to us not separating in the human polls from other 1-loss teams despite being the most challenged).

I had us at 10-2..figured we split bama/florida and auburn/arky...actually thought we would be auburn was wrong about them. In actuality, auburn does not have a very good team, but they have ONE guy that nobody can stop, and that is rarely enough in major college football. If you can't stop them, you can't beat them.
I still think 10-2, but am very optimistic that i will be wrong about arky. I do think we match up very well with arky, and i think a 11-1 season would be GREAT, especially given our offense and the schedule we played. There is a realistic possibility that we will have played 7 or possibly 8 bowl teams this year. UNC, WV, Fl, AU, Bama, Arky, State and don't laugh, possibly tenn...hell, even ulm could be bowl eligible although they probably wouldn't make one.

It really is more sweet now that all the chicken little morons have been proven wrong. It's a shame that they'll be back again at the first sign of adversity.

I imagine that most people who picked us to go 11-1 or 10-2 are the people who pick LSU to go 11-1 or 10-2 every year.
I'm pleasantly surprised with just how good the defense is playing. That being said, I'm still pretty accurate on Gary Crowton and his sorry excuse for an offense.

10-2... I figured we'd lose to Florida and Arkansas. I don't think anybody saw Florida struggling like this or Auburn emerging like this.
I would like to point out that I, like most should have, expected Alabama's D to fall off considerably this year, and didn't think we'd have that much trouble against them.

I said 9-1 going into Ole Miss, likely to beat them and a bit nervouse about Arkansas.

I said 10 and 2 and to be honest beating Bama is my season. I don't care what happens from here on.

I posted back on July 26th or so that LSU go 11-1 and hoping for 12-0.
I said that LSU would loose to Florida and then beat them in SEC CG.
NOW FOR THE REASON THEY ARE NOT 10-0 AND THEY ARE 9-1. You have to remember that their offense is weak and they depend on their defense for great field possition to help their offense be successful.
To me this is the problem LSU has on defense and that is containment discipline and if they would have this they would be more physicle and undefeated. Cam Newton would not have been able to run wild the way he did.
I still think had Chavis instilled disapline and stayed at home instead of LSU would have won that game. Being overly impatient allows the offensive player to react to you before you react to him, and Definition for impatient
- annoyed at waiting: annoyed or tending to be annoyed at being kept waiting or by being delayed- eager: eager to do something immediately, and unwilling to wait
To me this is what's missing on the defensive side of the ball and that is discipline, the ability or the reason for a player staying within his coverage area to keep an offensive player contained within an area for other defensive players to react to help in subdueing that offensive player. That is the only way a defensive team can be successful in keeping Cam Newton from running wild over their defensive players. He takes advantage of a group of definsive players inability to stay within a given area to contain him and that is why LSU failed in containing Newton.
That type of disipline is learned from repetition over and over so that it becomes a habbit so that it automaticly becomes apart of his playing ability. The ability to make an offensive player give away what he is going to do before the defensive player does so that once he sees what the offensive players intentions are the defensive player can react on those intentions, To keep him contained so he can make the play to stop him or contain him so that he can recieve help to make a play on him before he makes a bigger play out of a big play or keep him from gaining any ground. JMHO!
But! LSU has a awsome defense because they are super fast and with a little discipline LSU would be the best defense in all of College Football.
I SAY!

I was 8-4 or 9-3 at best. I still see us getting beat by the Pigs. We could get beat in the bowl as well giving us 10-3. Hope I'm wrong again. We still need to see improvement in the passing game.

I said 9-3. Technically....I could still be right.
