I haven't read this thread, and I'm not going to read it. I think that JR will be just fine, whatever happens. It may turn out that he would benefit from a little break from pressure, and will develope better. But, either way, he will be just fine. And, by "just fine", I mean I expect him to have an outstanding career. I thinkk that's going to happen regardless.

cute but the problem with the raiders goes way past wr, ol, and qb. Until you address Al Davis the raiders will still suck.

Yeah, well, that's not really what the article says, but OK.

I knew Russell shouldn't have left school early. Now Garcias' gonna start and Russells career is in jeopardy....

You say that like he has a history of not performing in the NFL, LOL.

Yes, I do.

He sat his rookie year, like most every other QB. He started last year as the youngest starting QB in the NFL, and given the talent around him, he didn't do all that bad.

Yeah. He sat his rookie year because he didn't get his lazy arse to training camp, and therefore didn't have a clue and wasted his first year of opportunity. He didn't do that good, either.

I don't get why EVERY other QB gets a couple of years starting to learn the NFL game, but JR should do it IMMEDIATELY.

Heard of Joe Flacco or Matt Ryan? Thought to compare those contracts with J.R.'s and the contributions made to their teams?

He missed training camp and the start of the season because he and the Raiders couldn't come to terms on the contract - it had absolutely nothing to do with work ethic.

Joe Flacco had a passer rating of 80 with 14 TDs and 12 INTs. Flacco also had the luxury of the #3 defense (scoring) in the NFL to take off some pressure. In comparison, JR had a passer rating of 77 and had the 27th ranked defense. And as stated 100 times in this thread JR also has to deal with a shitty OL and the worst owner in sports, not to mention he is already working with his 2nd coach.

Being a good QB in your 1st few years is not the norm.

I agree with your post. The other context which prompted my response was that the poster said my comments "were just silly".

And, when I said Garcia was going into to start... I meant that as to his mentality, not as to what role the Raiders traded for him. And therefore, J.R. had better start living up to his potential.

Gosh knows what potential J.R. has. I'm just saying that this is a year where he needs to assert himself.
