If Archie Manning was his dad, he could have went to a real team.

I think JR has 10x the talent that Brooks or George had. I agree that he needs the fire in the belly if he is to be successful in the NFL
------------------------------------

This is silly. What else does he have to do? He's playing his azz off right now on a shite stained team.

Not only is he playing smart football, JR is about to take over the NFL, not unlike Shaq did the NBA. Russell is about to be a mega star.

Last year was basically JR's rookie year. I don't think he did that bad considering the Raiders are frickng horrible at almost every position on offense.

I don't believe LSU fans ever seen JR's best. He was just getting started, and gaining more, and more confidence.
This will happen again at Oakland as time passes. Russell got a taste at the end of the season last yr, and I'm looking for him to make his mark possibly this next season.
When the nation gets to see his amazing arm every Sunday, JR will all of a sudden be a major celeb, and I'm thinking every bit as big as Shaq.

3 "A" characteristics a quarterback needs to have in order to be successful in the NFL.

"Ability", "Affability", and "A brain"

He can have tremendous ability and be extremely affable to his team mates, but if he doesn't develop a football brain........All the affability and ability won't matter.

the signed him as a backup fool

They have to say that. Of course JR will start the first couple of games, but Garcia will start eventually.

As an LSU fan eternally married to Matt Flynn, I receive a great amount of joy from anything negative about JR.
