But I find it very telling that this has supposedly been going on since May of last year, but she just broke up with him last week. Maybe he broke up with her last week, so she started making accusations to get back at him. Seems highly suspicious to me.

Maybe they paid her off, maybe someone put a guilt trip on her(we are so sorry this happened, but do you really want to ruin his life over this?) She was his girlfriend, pretty sure she still has some feelings for him. If there was physical evidence of abuse, or close friends of the "couple" say that there was abuse, then Davis has to go.

Speaking on O, I laugh when radio personalities say that O is honest to a fault. What a load of BS. He just isn't intelligent enough to be media savvy.

P.S. D.J. Lemahieu hits another homer!!

I’ve known Scott for a long time and have always respected him as a reporter, but this is a cheap shot. We can’t all agree that O is the right man for the job, but would hope that at this point we can all agree that he is a good man.

It’s not O’s job to make grandstanding statements against social issues. His job is to field a winning football team and prepare boys to be good men. I have to believe he is trying to do both, and even Scott acknowledged in the article that O brought in a female speaker to address this topic specifically.

With everything this man has going on, including a fan base that is decisively 50/50 about him as our coach, the last thing on his mind after a scrimmage is likely to be his prepared statement denouncing the ills of domestic violence. That simply isn’t who he is. He isn’t going to wax eloquently like Huey P. Long or Nick Saban. Stop expecting him to be and stop chastising him when he isn’t.

For LSU football purposes they are now false. I don’t care if we paid her or they were really false it’s all the same.

Dude! When asked about domestic violence your answer cannot be “It’s always about protecting the team. “

Screw the media pretty much in general.

It ain't O's job or anyone else to promote social injustice or any other topic. It is his job to coach a football team.

Best thing to do is what he initially did and say that it's a matter out of his hands.

All of you who still massage Nick's dick on here, y'all ever hear him address such?

He didn’t need a prepared statement and he didn’t have to throw anyone under the bus. Just a simple “This is a legal matter and we don’t know all of the details so I will not comment. But domestic violence is a serious issue and we will cooperate fully with the process”.

Saying protect the team gives people like Rabalais an opening to say “how about you tell them it’s wrong because it’s a terrible act, not just because it has a negative impact on the football team?”.

This isn’t a social injustice issue.

Lol it wasn’t a trick question.

It was a question about domestic violence in general.

Anyone who believes the proper response “It’s always about protecting the team.“ has no clue about PR.

It was a bad answer and a missed opportunity. That’s what Rabalais is saying.

He is correct.

The quote from Davis's atty I read was she "admitted the statements were flase."

This article is stupid and is just a case of Rabalais jumping on the #metoo bandwagon.

I am as nega - O as any fan out there, but if you read O’s comments in complete context, the “protect the team” theme resulted from a speech given to the team by a female speaker who basically relayed that if ever player held every other player accountable for solid treatment of women, the team and it’s players shouldn't have any issues. It is a way to “protect the team.”

Nothing in O ‘s comments were intended to be disrespectful, he was just repeating that theme.

From the defense atty who refused to release the statement?

Can I sell you some swampland?

I have personally known 2 men who were falsely accused of DV.
Hell, men are accused everyday of rape and it's false.

What O is guilty of is not explaining himself well enough (imagine that, ) He should've stuck to Cam Newton's "...it's an on-going investigation" I think his quote about "protecting the team" is Yaw-Yaw for "innocent until proven..."

Rabalais trying to call back CUM's debacle and it's weak.

I honestly wouldn't want O to know I put my hands on a lady. I have a good idea what his stance on DV is.
Very good, in fact.

Well it's what a smart coach would do when recruiting is a 365 day-a-year job.

Ed's track record there is as good as his win loss record.

You insinuating the admission of false statements statement is false? Like the atty made it up?

Because she wouldn't release it to The Advocate?
During an on-going investigation?
