My boss (who heads up the Auburn Coaches Committee), told me on Thursday that “experiences are the only things that matter”. Flew out with my wife and son’s family on Friday morning. Same takeaway as you…

Absolutely, a friend of mine who is a fellow Cub fan and I said if the Cubs ever made the WS we were going not matter the cost or circumstances.

Standing room only tickets were $2500 each so we did not do that, but we spent $1100 to watch game 4 from the rooftops and were able to eat and drink all we wanted....and we did.

Bars were charging covers all over Wrigleyville, but you could dodge them if you did a little fast talking and strategic walking.

But the memories we still recall, no regrets. Hell I remember going to see LSU play Notre Dame with my Dad and brother in South Bend in 1985. My Dad who always brought up money, he never did on this one. I think it was one of his fondest memories going there with his boys.

Like you said, it's the experiences that matter and the best are fueled by true passion. Of course it's much better when your team wins.

I won’t miss the next one with my son. Couldn’t make last year.

I am really enjoying this thread with all the stories. I had my hotel booked for this year along with a couple of tailgate buddies. Did not work out but I am going to make it one day to see LSU in the CWS.

Note to self: Book hotel for next year.
