After going 0 for Houston and his only hit Wednesday being the one where Antoine got hit by the batted ball. I meant started hitting AFTER his 0 for weekend.

Not only does Poche have the lowest ERA.... He has the most innings pitched in SEC.

That is absolutely crazy.

Also, Kramer may finally have started hitting but his throws to first are bad. He may get to the plays but he is making terrible throws.

Yes, I am a her...and I was there at the game. Kramer overthrew first multiple times this weekend (very high throws off the mark). Slaughter has saved him several times over there. Kramer had 2 errors Saturday and 1 Sunday. Even though CPM blamed Slaughter for the one although the score-keeper gave it to Kramer for the throw.

Slaughter has done a good job scooping balls out of the dirt and coming off the bag to get errant throws.

Also, and I don't think it's changed since today, but LSU has the best pitcher in the SEC(Poche), best hitter for average (Freeman), best HR hitter and RBI producer(Deichman), and best fielding percentage in the SEC...I know it's all before SEC competition, but that's a dang good list of notables...

The key to the team will be can the freshman maintain the success they have had so far. If they can manage to not fade in SEC play then i think top to bottom it's the best lineup in the conference with the best 1-2 punch on the mound in conference.

You are wrong. He had 2 errors this weekend. 3 for the entire year. 0.955 fielding% and that's excellent for a SS.

ETA: His fielding last year was 0.948

Hess needs to come out this week and pitch strong for 5-6IP. P from ahead in the count and pound the zone. Hope Peterson can get 1-2 good IP's this week too IOT get his confidence going again. Going to need these young guys.

Anyone have an update on McKay's status? Would be nice to have him for that 1-2IP...or more situation.

Not according to the box score...he had 2 Saturday...

03/11/2017 Box Score

It looks like they reversed the one on Kramer and gave it to Templet in the 9th according to the play by play but the box score showed it as 2.

One of the last things anyone should be complaining about is our infield defense. It's saving us way more runs than it's allowing this season.

Here is a concern that I have: Our Bullpen is stranding only 56% of inherited runners.

Still logging leverage stuff, I'll have that later today. And I've got some new Pythagorean expectations as well, but based on Team Base Runs instead of actual runs scored.

But 56% is not good.

You have to admit his throws have added excitement to the games thus far. The man I sit next to almost always says, "uh-oh" whenever a ground ball is headed in Kramer's direction.

As far as his fielding %, how much worse would it be if Diechmann was still at first this season...?? Like kelly said, Slaughter has saved KR from several errors.

And you know I'm a KR believer. It's just that his throwing accuracy is down from last year. Maybe Mainieri needs to have someone hit Kramer in the mouth with a ball....

I can't defend his play this weekend. It wasn't to his usual standard. I do think it's too far to call it a real problem. As for if Deichmann was there... well, see his numbers last year. Not much different with Deichmann and Bryce J there most games.

I've been trying to stay level headed these last weeks. I was more worried about Lange and the TT loss than the McNeese loss. I'm still concerned about our play on the road. I'm less worried about our pen because it's tough to come in up around 10 runs and stay focused and not allow runners when you're throwing way more fastballs.

The thing that has stood out to me the most so far hasn't been the accuracy of his throws but the timing.(not sure if that's the best way to word it). Basically I fine plays at first for KR have been very very close so far.

KR didn't have a case of the yips last season that he's going through now so it's not a good comparison.

He'll get it corrected; I have no doubt.
