Gator fan taking a bus to the game this year and looking for any recommendations on where to park. It seems as if parking on campus is out of the question, but are there lots near campus that will allow us to park/tailgate? I'd like to be as close as possible to get the entire LSU Tailgating experience. There is a parking lot reserved for UF fans a ways from the stadium, but I think that defeats the purpose....we're looking forward to learning a thing or two about tailgating from you LSU folk. Any information would be appreciated and looking forward to the game.

Farr Park on River Road is about two miles from campus, you need to get there on Wednesday though to get a space available spot with power and water....which is a big advantage over staying on campus, you can drive over to the hayfield lot and walk from there....

Thanks for the reply. We have a generator and everything we'll need for tailgating - we just need to find somewhere that will accomodate the space for a bus. I understand that we won't be too close, but I'd like to find a lot within reasonable distance that will include people tailgating to the fullest. We'll be arriving first thing in the morning on Saturday, ala before 9am.

Major mistake if your coming in on a bus my friend. There will be 300K people on campus that day.

ETA: You come in on Saturday and you will be taking a yellow cab to see some real tailgating. Welcome to Tigerdroppings.

That won't cut it, especially if you have a bus. By 9am gameday, particularly vs Florida, there will be no parking available.

Try 9am Friday.

Worst case scenario is we'll buy a parking pass for the Gator lot which is a mile and a half from the stadium. Just want to see if there any alternatives before we do that.

It's a "rock star" bus that sleeps 12, which is really just a glorified RV, albeit slightly larger.

I realize that we won't be able to park anywhere on campus or really anywhere too close, but I'm wondering if there are any private lots that will be able to accomodate us. Church lots or the such? Cost for parking really isn't an issue.

Yea, there's a charter bus/limo lot on Skip Bertman Drive...contact the athletic department about it.

You need a RV pass for the Vet. School lot.

If you don't have any slide outs the bus and limo parking is the spot you need. But dont't try to slide out, they will kick you out. Ask Tim Mcgraw and Faith.
