There have been same rumblings around the league that other teams have figured out Aranda scheme.

The D-line is soft.

Why are the ones that hate aranda Os biggest supporters?

Wanting a coach to earn his money isn’t hate. With top pay as a coordinator comes high expectations. Why do some of you not hold him to that? For whatever reason our defense sucks and I’m tired of the “it played good for one half” bs...that means nothing when teams put 30 pts on us in the other half.

It needs to get fixed pronto.

I agree. It’s getting bad when the media starts calling out our defense...who would’ve ever thought that would happen

I think recruiting on the defensive side of the ball has been down. D-line and linebackers .
What y’all think?

Stevens - #1 safety
Delpit - rated top safety in CFB last year
Fulton - 5 star
Stingley - 5 star
Vincent - 5 star
Phillips - #1 ILB
Chaisson - 5 star
Lawrence - high 4 star
Fehoko - high 4 star
Shelvin - high 4 star (actually playing well)

Across the board the D has more talent than the offense. Last night I saw players still trying to get in position when OM snapped the ball. I saw Stevens looking around and trying to make calls when the ball was snapped. I saw multiple loaf plays where one player is making the tackle and the rest watched when they could have helped instead of allow the runner to carry the tackler. I watched poor technique and poor effort.

Delpit was supposed to be the leader this season and he's the biggest problem on the field. I have been relatively silent, hoping the D would get it together, but 10 games in and nothing's changed. Aranda, O and the team captains on D need to get their shite together or this team will lose an opportunity for a historic season due to the defense.

It’s not just talent, but coaching at this level. A 3 star can be coached up.

I don't know whether or how far our defensive talent is below par, but I know that they are talented enough to do better than they did last night.

I watch us dominate other teams defenses with this amazing offense, but even while defending this record setting offense, I don't see opposing defenses leaving SOOOO much space for our running game to operate. Half the time it seems like we don't have 11 players out there on defense.

Talented or not, we have some players that are basically holes on many plays.

It is obvious that it is not all coaching or all talent because of the good halfs that the defense has played. You have a 33 to 13 lead on Alabama at the half and 31 to 7 against Ole Miss then everything that can go wrong on defense does go wrong in the second half. That is bs.
Coaches need to fix their part of this shite show and the players need to fix their part.
No one is immune from responsibility and blame.

The real issues is lack of consistency - primarily in the second half.

It is just odd that an LSU defense is this helter shelter through 10 games.

That is just not acceptable

It seem to me that, talentwise,
LSU doesn’t have the studs on D It used to put on the field. I mean there was always at least one or two guys who other teams feared and required them to adjust their offensive game plan.

Well then why can we not rush the QB with just 4? We know stars next to name mean nothing, it’s production!
