How do you prefer the guys handle the pains of playing football? These guys are faster and stronger than ever. I imagine you feel like you got run over by an 18 wheeler after a game.

It’s still against the rules.

I understand but if they need something for pain. What would you want them to do? If it was your kid and he was asking for advice on whether to break the rules or take pain killers. What would you tell him?

Yeah but didn’t you hear, the 50 y/o in the other thread can’t smoke weed and work his office job so this is no excuse.

Don’t understand why everyone can’t agree that while this is a rule currently, it’s a dumb one. And it’s one that LSU is probably in the minority with

look, I can understand a 35 year old pro using weed to help his chronic pain from 20 years playing football, but Divinity is a 20 year old guy.

The "football pain made me do it" excuse doesn't fly. At all.

It should be legal statewide for recreational use. But it’s not. So it’s illegal.

LMFAO are you really trying to say these guys smoke weed because of pain? They smoke weed because they like it and want too.

I don't give a frick what the excuse is if its against the rules and you choose to do it your suffer the consequences if your caught

My question to you is would you let your 14-year-old son smoke weed to get rid of this headache?

I take it my question will not be answered

Yes it is bullshite that these guys have to go through and endure such physical trauma every Saturday and that they arent allowed to smoke even tho it is proven to help with pain.

That being said, they have to do it the old school way of a half bottle of Advil (which is hard on the internal organs), ice baths, stretching, massages, physical therapy etc..

Basically all the legal forms of pain management.

It doesnt mean everyone believes weed isnt a good alternative to pain pills to cope with the pain.

At the end of the day, it is not legal and against the rules. Just because you dont agree with the rules doesnt mean youre exempt from following them.

I am a firm believer in MJ's pain killing properties. However, it is not permitted by the NCAA for use as a student athlete. Therefore, a student-athlete who chooses to smoke weed and gets caught deserves the punishment. When the laws and rules change, then the behavior can change. Modern football players have access to some of the best medical treatment you can get. Weed does not heal ligaments and broken bones.

1) I smoke the shite out of it

2) I do not believe the players are smoking for 'pain tolerance'

3) I wish they'd remember that I gave them some pot cookies and they did not KNOW it was pot cookies. I wish they'd have called so I could confess to my playing of this prank without ever TELLING them about the pot.....*wink*

THC is not a very good pain killer, and chronic use of marijuana actually suppresses the immune system.

Reduce pain momentarily. That will do absolutely nothing for physical injuries lmao.

“Coach I think I tore my ACL”
“Step in the tent and light up a blunt, son”

It has no healing effect.
