The real risk I see is how much of the recruiting is Les and how much is LSU. I think it's more Les than LSU. So the risk is huge.
Which is why Jimbo would be considered the "safest" hire, he's got a track record at FSU of being a very good recruiter.
LSU's avg. finish on 247 the last 5 years is 7.2, while FSU's avg. finish is 4.6.

We could get a Curly 2.0. They're not always so easy to spot ahead of time. Or a guy who's a solid fit at one school can shite the bed at his next stop. A lot of things could happen, and a lot of them are bad. Is that a reason to hold on to the status quo? Not necessarily, but it can always get worse.

Yeah, they fired a coach that was 9-3 after 3 years
We have had Miles for 11 season
the last 4 have been a decline
big difference!!
Solich was in the national title game two years prior. One year at 7-7 then rebounded to 9-3 before being fired.

Are you saying keep Les? Or wait til we hire three more coaches afterward? Lol

See Alleva's coaching hires at Duke. LSU may have the ability to attract a higher quality of candidates, the idiot in the AD chair has to have the brain capacity to choose wisely. Track record frightening.

Do the people who continually cite Texas and Tennessee recognize that the problem in those instances was belated firing, not premature firing?
Yet the programs both continued to run in the shitter. .... it's easy to get a bad coach.
Much the same as number 1 picks can bust.

They were down for like 3 years than Bo Pelini came and had relative success
Nebraska isn't cranking out talent.

How much worse do you see it being? How many more losses will it be? Will we get blown out by more than this year? Will the offense be even worse?
OK...I'll try...since I guess I'm part of that crowd.
I'm not saying it will necessary get worse...I'm simply pointing out the reality of that being a possibility.
That doesn't mean I'm saying you don't make a coaching change...sometimes there's not a good choice and a bad choice, but rather simply a bad choice and a worse choice.
What's ridiculous is the extreme wing of the Anti-Les crowd spouting nonsense like, "it can't get any worse", "anybody can win with our talent", etc. etc.
I'm willing to bet most if not all of this crowd didn't sit through a 2-9 Hallman season. Not saying the program will end up back there, but to think it's impossible is foolish, just look at Miami and Texas.

Tennessee says be very careful....
Tennessee hired Derek Dooley and Lane Kiffin. Even then that was retarded.
