Will Wade is absolutely the best HC LSUMBB could have at this point. He has made us an SEC top 4 team for three straight years.

Well it is the same board that melted over the Herman/O situation and said Herman would win titles at UT and O never would here. Also the same board that went right back to that bash O mentality just months after he put together the greatest season in CFB history. In short, this board is retarded as frick.

sadly most LSU fans are not very educated when it comes to hoops. Baseball and football? They can tell you anything and everything. Basketball, it just isn’t there.

Not till they get on a streak. According to Lou Brown, three straight is a streak.

No, he's still good in some areas and bad in others.

Only the true tards believe ww should be fired. Practice defense more. This team is fun to watch when they decide to play defense.

Yes the piling on Wade, "O" and CM is just mind boggling.

We have threads before the BB season calling for CM head if we don't get to Omaha.
We have weekly threads about how bad a coach "O" is
We now have constant griping about how W Wade is not a game time coach and has no clue to defense.

All 3 programs are in good shape and as with any school other than Alabama football these programs are somewhat fragile at the same time.

1 or 2 injuries, now we have opt outs, players leaving early, players developing problems and any of these or combination can derail a program.

For some reason there are some vocal about one and have to bash the other sports

i think he keeps proving himself to be a good coach. javonte is an incredible bball player but just isn't a consistently good passer and often is careless or sloppy with the ball. he's just not a textbook cbb point guard. having said that, wade has adjusted this team's complexion to be a iso offense and it has absolutely worked spectacularly. 2 years ago, lsu was more of a 2 man game with the high screen. the guy knows offense as good as anyone.

certainly, his teams haven't been ranked high defensively but, he once again found a formula that works for this team's makeup - steals. lsu doesn't have the big bodies in the paint so he stretches the d out and uses the team's athleticism and they've been one of the better teams in the country in steals. it's absolutely complimented the offensive style.

he's not viewed as one of the best in the conference because lsu isn't ranked and doesn't have some high profile wins this season and because of the fbi nonsense. but he absolutely is a top coach in the sec.

Couldn’t agree more. People want every team to look exactly the same. This team isn’t bad at defense because Wade cannot coach defense. It is the make up of the individual players.

Cam is an outstanding offensive player but you can tell he isn’t extremely interested in playing defense the whole game.

Leblanc is the only “rim protector” but he is still pretty raw (look at his silly fouls). Wilk isn’t scared of protecting the rim but he is limited due to his size (love his motor and potential).

Days would be a pretty good defender if he didn’t have so many silly fouls. I think Gaines has a lot of potential if he keeps improving on both ends (gets out of control sometimes on offense and gets a little too aggressive on defense)

I wouldn't say the defensive approach "works". LSU is long and athletic enough to defend in the half court...when they want to. The problem is they have some guys (primarily Watford and Thomas) who have very little interest in defending. Neither hustles back in transition (where teams can beat LSU) and most of the time they stand around in the half-court just freelancing hoping to get a steal totally oblivious as to where the man they are supposed to be watching is located.

Yes, Wade believes very much in creating turnovers. But I think he puts far too much emphasis on that single aspect. And for the record, LSU was among the nation's leaders in steals when they DID have the big bodies inside (KBW and Reid). So it's not just a personnel necessity. Maybe the most frustrating part is that LSU seems to lock in on defense ONLY when they feel it is absolutely necessary. They played great and engaged defense vs. Texas Tech. They played engaged (for the most part) yesterday...but then you'll watch them in the next game go out and not give a shite on defense.

Like Jimmy Dykes said yesterday, there is NO reason this group can't be good defensively. It's just a matter of them actually WANTING to be good defensively. Hopefully this past week will provide some confidence and motivation. When this group is engaged they are a top 25 TEAM. When they revert to just individual pieces trying to make plays they can lose to anyone.

Cam is a freshman who has never been requested to play defense nor pass.
He has grown tremendously, this season. He made a great drive to the basket yesterday, then passed it off to a wide open team mate for the score.
Its too bad the system is designed for one and done.
Another season and he would be a complete player.

Didn’t mean it as a knock. I’ll take his net positive from his offense any day because he’s that good. Just pointing out the collective lack of defense as a team due to each individual player.

Cam has absolutely improved as the season has progressed. He is driving a lot more and starting to look for open perimeter players if he doesn’t have a lane.

After the bama and TT losses we have been a different team. I think they were embarrassed and ww decided to go back to fundamentals. They've been much more fun to watch playing as a team as opposed to 5 guys at the gym. ??
