The gumps stated "don't lose to Iowa State and expect a handout." This shows the lack of compassion and how freaking pathetic the gumps are. OSU lost to Iowa State (a bowl team) on the day they had a tragedy. Bama had their own tragedy earlier this year and you would think a fanbase that experienced such would have learned a lesson about compassion. Apparently not. They are just assholes that only care about themselves.

I haven't forgotten the 2005 season when LSU won the SEC west and lost in the SEC Championship game. Our fans and team were still dealing with the aftermath of Katrina and Rita. What did we get for winning the west and beating both Alabama and Auburn? The Peach Bowl - a lesser paying, not a New Year's Day Bowl.

frick BAMA!!

I still say:

Bama offense>> LSU offense (SEC only stats Bama 1, LSU 4)

Bama defense>= LSU defense (SEC only, Bama 1, LSU 2, Yrds given up 180 vs 224)

(SEC Stats do not include UGA game)

LSU K/P >> Bama K/P (LSU can flip the field like a good NFL punter)

Add these up and I think we see a similar game. Bama will get a good deal more yards than LSU but will have to because of weaker kicking game. IMO, the ball bounced hard in LSU's favor last time. I'm betting it bounces our way this time.

There is sort of a precedent for this. In 2003, under Saban, LSU beat #7 Georgia during the regular season, then again a #5 Georgia team for the SEC championship. Funny, how it's Saban again...just on the losing end...

Wishful thinking. In fact, LSU played with poor field position for a large part of the game.

I'm pretty sure LSU had better field position the entire game. Mostly due to Bama missed FG's and LSU punting.

Hoyt it looks to me like the teams are virtually even offensively, defensively and coaching. The Tigers have a decided advantage on ST and that is the thin edge of the knife as far as I am concerned. If the units of both teams play their A-games then the Tigers likely win a close game again, largely due to their ST.

The problem is that you (like every other gump) like to spit out the yards per game. Points win games, not yards. LSU led the SEC in scoring offense (even if you figure in only SEC games) and were second in scoring defense just behind Alabama. Oh, and if you use SEC games only and don't include the SECCG (which your team didn't play in because they couldn't beat LSU on their own turf) LSU and Bama gave up the exact same number of points.

So you're saying our coaching staff did a better job of recognizing that sometimes it's better to punt than to try a long shot FG? I guess there's a reason Coach Miles is 5-2 against the mighty Bama.

Bama did virtually nothing once crossing into LSU territory...thus the long FG attempts.

LSU shot itself in the foot just as much as Bama did also. How many times did LSU have a penalty right around midfield or better making it a 1st and 15?

I think LSU's depth makes LSU the better team when it's all said and done. Bama will never wear LSU down because it plays about 15 players on the front 7. Bama relies on wearing out opponents.

The real question should be is how Bama fans undoubtedly think they were the better team after losing the game. That arrogance is why everyone hates bama.

You whined your way into the BCS game not by your own merit but because everyone else shite the bed. Yet you still think you are everyone's daddy

You were the fat girl the BCS picked up from the bar at last call. Go sit quietly in the corner till this game is over and realize your place in life.

I posted to this effect the other day on SECR and thread was soon deleted.

The better team wouldn't allow the enemy to take what's precious from their house.
I refer you to 11-6-10 and 11-5-11 to study the contrast.
1-9-12 Bama is coming to our other house, and sorry, you leave with nothing but butthurt.

Bama has a pretty good team, but sometimes a rival team just has your number for periods of time.

I expect less Gump tears this time, since deep down, you Gumps are a little less cocksure and expecting a loss this time.

This is the absolute truth Bammers just cannot accept.

LSU and Bama are like Affirmed and Alydar in the triple crown races in 1977 (I know I am showing my age). But for Affirmed-- Alydar would have set track records and won the triple crown....Unfortunately for Alydar, he was racing the same year that Affirmed was winning the triple crown.
Same thing goes for Bama-- But for LSU-- Bama would have won the SEC West, the SEC and the BCS. Unfortunately for Bama, LSU will win the triple crown-- SEC West Champs, SEC overall Champs, BCS National Champs!

Hoyt, my fren, the Alabama team is definitely one of the top 2 teams this year. As such, your guys belong in the NCG. But much of your fanbase, as represented to me, mostly from TideFans.com, embarrasses me as a former resident of the great state of Alabama.

Jan.9 should be fun.

So, if everyone knew/knows that Alabama is better than LSU, why bother playing the game(s)?
