(this was posted on the rant as well) I am very much looking forward to 10/13 and am heading to BR for the game as I have heard so much about death valley but have never been. Any of you guys have good recs on places to eat, see and do around the city/campus? There's about 15 of us and we all graduated from UGA 2 years ago and were there when you guys came in 2013 and I gained alot of respect for LSU fans that day.

Thanks

Prepare to be highly disappointed in the atmosphere of Baton Rouge if you are all used to Athens. Might just want to stick on campus for tailgating.

Hopefully you can see the battle royal between negatards and Cheerios on parade grounds.

Stay tuned

Check out the Chimes for sure. They've got a great brunch menu for Sunday after the game and just good food in general on gameday.

ETA: Baton Rouge downtown is pretty lame and not close to LSU. Hell I don't even know what it's like on gameday but I imagine it's pretty tame. Tigerland may be your style if you're just out of college. Fred's and Bogies are solid. Do not go to Reggie's unless you're looking to hang around freshmen and high schoolers. Also you're gonna have to uber or drive to most any place that isn't on campus as Baton Rouge is mostly a giant suburb and isn't really walkable. Don't walk north of campus past state street. It gets bad fast.

Also if you're by Ivar's, George's is an awesome choice for food.

The rule is don't go on streets named after presidents or states. I hope y'all didn't see something cheap and close on a map and choose something there or you will need to proceed with extreme caution.

Stay in New Orleans and come up for the game and go back to Nola. That’s my best advice.

I mean come tailgate and hang out all day before the game but I would stay in New Orleans.

Coming into town Friday?

If I was y'all, I would grab dinner Friday night at Chimes. If you are looking to partake in some debauchery, head to Bogies or Freds later on and witness the college bar scene. If you all are looking for something a little more laid back, you might stay at chimes and drink at the bar or head right next door to Barcadia (I haven't been to the BR location, so someone that has might be able to give you more insight on if this is a good idea).

Saturday morning I would wake up and head to campus. If you all are staying close enough you might be able to walk and with 15, it shouldnt be a problem to carry a tent and a few chairs for a bare bones tailgate setup. There will be plenty of people set up the night before, and any open space on saturday morning is fair game. I would set up a spot and spend most of Saturday walking campus.
