It is easy to put down someone else for the job they are doing.

But if you are going to put down someone you have to have ideas of what will be a better way of doing things.

so I pose this question to everyone:

"What do you need to see on the field Saturday that will change your mind on the team?"

what say you...

I feel we have a great team and there are some kinks to work out...i would like to see us balanced on offense and continue to be a scary defense and I will continue to be positive about this team, the coaching staff and the season.

it would take alot for me to just turn my back to be honest...but I feel alot of the fan base (especially on this site) have.

so what will change your mind to the positive or vise versa?

if the fan base turned their back, they wouldn't be on this board. "These" people you speak of may be immature, but haven't turned.

Against Georgia, just win.... I do not care if it is by 3.

I think this team is the about as good as the 98 or 99 teams. A win would be a plus, but if we stay within a score of Georgia, I think it would be a moral victory.

Sweet frick of the lord. We have regressed from a national championship contender to a 3-8 team in the span of one season?

If that is true, have mercy on us all.

Overpowering offensive and defensive lines......

absent that, better attempts at disguising that weakness (whether it's better play-calling, mixing up various personnel, or different schemes or formations).

I expect some of this to come thru (by necessity) on Saturday, but I'm not convinced that it will equate to an LSU win. If we truly don't have the physical capability to dominate both sides of the line, then good teams know how to exploit that, and it is hard to win......especially on the road.

I'm cautiously optimistic that our guys will play up to the competition vs. GA, and if nothing else, earn some respect with toughness and smart playmaking. Regardless of whether they win or lose, it will have us headed in the right direction, which is what most people are most concerned about.

At first glance, I read it as LSU is as good as 98 or 99 of the teams this year... the actual intention is ridiculous.

It reminds me of 2002 a bit because of the Marcus Randall offense. Either that or 2004. 98 or 99...no.

The first sign of things to come was Kentucky 2007. The 2007 team however still had influences of a previous culture. You no longer hear about playing 60 minutes or excellence. You hear about what Miles WANTS to do.

My mind is not made up, but a win is not required (preferred, but not required).

What I'm looking at in this game:

1) D-line getting some pressure on Cox
2) Minimal amounts of breakdown in coverage
3) A good mix of effective offense

UGA is a talented team with some similar types of problems. If the Dawgs fire on all cylinders, they can beat us even when doing the above.

So, there are two benchmarks: ourselves and victory

NC contenders we are not

honestly? we'll be lucky to get to the shreveport bowl this season

ole miss may be the only team left on our conference schedule that is actually playing worse than we are right now....and even that's debatable.

Arkansas is playing better than us?

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

If we go 9-3 i will be happy. I didn't expect to go undefeated and i honestly thought before the season and still think we only lose 3 games this year.

I believe a win is a win, and winning is the most important thing. But when you're dead last in the SEC on offense and 9th on defense...and you really havent played a very tough schedule, you have to at least have some trepidation.

If we at least had an ALMOST all around good game against a COUPLE of those "mediocre" teams, it would be much easier to feel confident.

If they were truly holding back and simply "knew" they could win those games without showing much, then the coaching staff is the smartest, most genius coaching staff in the history of college football, and ill bow down and kiss their "insert what you want here".

But clearly this team has alot to prove..and well...IMprove.

I still trust Les Miles in big games...and this is a BIG ONE...you CANT LOSE THIS GAME BEFORE THE UF GAME...you just cant.

So im actually kinda confident.

At this point, I'll consider any kind of a win a victory. As long as we have scored more points than them by the end of the game, I'll feel like we won.

a stronger o-line, better running from scott and williams. although I think the latter is a problem because of the former. I'm not chicken little - I think lsu is good, I'm just realistic thinking that 8 or 9 wins is more attainable for this group of players than 12 wins and a NC.

if we would have played them last week, the boot would be in Fayetteville another year...they shredded us with casey dick's little brother just 10 months ago. Mallett is MUCH better than that guy.

Les has really painted himself in a corner. Chavis and special teams is really the only thing that can save his butt...this O-line is the worst we've had in many years and Les can't correct that overnight. I thought Studrawa should have gotten the axe along with Malveto last year.

How far can you go in SEC with a sorry o-line? Ask Jay Cutler

dude spent 4 years at vandy running for his life every snap. The entire offense was on his shoulders since the line couldn't open holes or pass protect sufficiently. our o-line is performing no better than the ones Cutler played behind. Fortunately we have skill guys that will occasionally be able to break something open despite the o -line.

Jefferson is doing a damn good job especially considering the o-line and his inexperience.

This is a most excellent point that really cuts to the heart of the matter. "Playing for 60 minutes" yielded many satisfying results in games that were being played as well as future games. You could count on the team making maximum effort-win OR lose. I really miss that intensity. Great point Tiger n Texas.
