Correct Ed.

I grew up with Toe. He never had a parental figure until Hot Rod retired. He never finished middle school much less high school. He was living with Harold Reynolds brother in Cali and was doing well.

Ran into him after an LSU game in college and asked him wtf he was doing back and he said he was home sick. Week later he was arrested again.

In what sense is the sugar cane league considered professional? Do they give them gas money? Buy them a box of chicken ?

A little sidetrack, about 6-7 years ago I coached a AAU tournament against a team from Baton Rouge. In walks a kid that was 13-14 and 6’ plus. Physically skilled and and just way better than any kid at the basketball tournament. After he slaughtered our team I asked their coach about him. He said that the kid didn’t live with his parents, was with a sibling or something, did’t go to school. He added that every school in Baton Rouge knew about him and they all tried to get them into their school. Some coaches even offered to pick him up everyday to get to school and he would only last a week or two before he’d quit or get in a fight. It was a waist of talent. This kid was legit good. No clue of his name but they said he was from around the McKinley High area.

Really glad he’s doing good now. The prime example of what no parental guidance does. Word was that his first arrest was bs. The drug charge one.

The crazy thing is if this happened now someone would “Blind Side” him and put him on their travel ball team. Ascension has 100000 teams.

The only question I have is. WHERE IN THE HELL THEY PLAY SEMI PRO BASEBALL IN SORRENTO

If I remember right I think I saw old clips of them playing in a cane field somewhere. He played in the Sugar Cane League.

I played in the sugar cane league. We had a few games in sorrento and the only thing I remembered was it being in the middle of nowhere’s, in a sugar cane field

This was in 05/06
