We are considering taking our three children to the meet tomorrow night and need to know how long does a meet usually last. Any advice for a family with three children under the age of 7? TIA

It seems like it takes a couple of hours. If you have small kids, they may enjoy sitting within view of where the cheerleaders and the Mike the Tiger human mascot are set up.

Glad to see this question posted. What would be a good section to shoot for iin order to be by the cheerleaders and Mike?

It is interesting seeing some of the Olympic sports rise in popularity.

We usually park in the lot just outside of Tiger Stadium - the Sports Admin. office is in that lot. If it's full we just cross the street by the south endzone and park there. Get there early - last meet I went to there were 8800+ fans in attendance. Your kids will have a GREAT time!

I forget exactly, because I live in another state these days, but I vaguely recall that they are set up on right side of the home side of the court. Unless things have changed, non-season tickets were general admission, so you could just buy regular tickets and then walk right on over to there to sit. Of course, that was a few years back, so things may have changed since then...

I took kids in that age range to first gymnastic meet for all of us vs Alabama. Sat about midcourt but ordered tix couple weeks early. The kids were fascinated and left the arena doing their versions of maneuvers they had seen. It also helps to know where the concession stands are as they will want snacks, popcorn or cotton candy!

It is not every day that you get to see the Number 1 team in the country wearing purple and gold which adds to the atmosphere.

Heard the coach the other day on WBRP. She said because that want families to come out they keep the action moving with simultaneous events, floor exercise happening while balance beam competition is going on and so on.
She said they aim to make it about an hour and half for the meet.
I don't know about noise level.
Several years ago took mine when they were under 8 to a women's bb game,(I knew a couple of players on the team) they didn't like the noise level of the piped in music especially or the crowd noise. Left at half.

LSU's coach said they try to keep around an hour and half, so yeah, I would think no more than two hours.
