are pretty much my two favorite recruits of Coach Jones. Both possess the type of length to play pro ball, yet came to LSU needing several years to do so.
I'd rather teams composed of these types of guys than one-and-done's.

Quarterman, as we know, is given to be in the league next year.

Epps is starting to blossom now. My hope is that he can push for a starting spot this year, but it probably won't happen till Simmons leaves.

Still,
victor, epps, simmons, hornsby, and quarterman will be a line-up that we will need to use against some of the more talented, bigger teams we play

Epps is the "X" Factor....his continued development is imperative to LSU's success! Seems to be playing with more confidence & the game has slowed down for him some...

He should be a valuable 6th man at the very least as LSU makes their run!

TQ has HARDLY regressed.

I hope you're right about Epps. You can see his offensive game, but until the last 2 games, he has shown desire to battle on the boards. That desperately needs to change.

Does a lot of the same stuff as Simmons. His stats can't look as good with Simmons on the team, but he is still very important to the team.

I wouldn't say that Quarterman has regressed. Last year he played 36 minutes a game and was the primary ball handler all the time. Now he has less minutes and more guys who can do things.

His defense could be better, but other than that, he is still our guy at PG and does a great job.

Epps is very similar to Lionel Tree Green, and his offensive game is similar to Chris Johnson. Johnson made it to the NBA for short stints. Who knows if Epps continues to develop his game he might do the same.

He's getting open shots and still shooting around same percentage. His free throws are horrendous so he is a liability deep in games. His defense has gotten worse. I'd say regressed. He is dropping in 2017 draft boards. When we play a 2-3 zone he may as well stay on bench.

On what planet? He was awful his freshman year, good last year, even better so far this year.

His PER by year:

2013-14 - 7.0 PER
2014-15 - 16.9 PER
2015-16 - 19.9 PER

His FG%, 3pt %, ast per 40 min, reb per 40 min are all up this year and his turnovers are down

42.7% to 45.4% FG
31.3% to 37.8% 3pt

Those are both nice increases

??? Is this the consensus? I see him as more of a long shot than a given to make an active NBA roster. Am I underrating him?

Quarterman isn't listed on this mock draft. LINK

There are very few roster spots available in the NBA so it's tough to get one.

Quarterman's got good height and length and sometimes I see things that make me think he can do it, but I'm just not sold on his ability to make an NBA roster. Honestly would be surprised if he did, and more surprised if he hung around more than a couple years.

No use in arguing with most these people. I discovered a long time ago that people, especially LSU fans, just see what they want to see. They have no concept of facts or what is really going on.

Bringing up per with a significant decrease in minutes is not a very good way to show he didn't regress. TQ will average what he does whether he plays 25 or 35 minutes. So per is off on the 25 minutes. There's a reason mock drafts have him falling. It's cause he got worse. lol.

Lol if you average the same playing 30 minutes as you do playing 20 minutes what's ur per? The 20 is higher. His lower minutes actually help his PER.

Seems to have picked up his defensive intensity somewhat the past couple of games; possibly due in part to the infectious hustle of Hornsby and Victor. TQ becoming as consistently effective as he was a year ago will be a huge factor for this young team going forward. Agree also that Epps is stepping up nicely.

how can you possibly think someone will just "have the same" numbers whether he plays 20 or 30 minutes?

That makes as little sense as possible.
