In order to give me a better analysis of QB's regression at Okie State, I would need to know 2 things:

1. What years did Rashaun Woods and Tatum Bell play? Both of these guys were pretty darn good from what I remember. Woods leaving may reduce # of passing yards, while Bell carries may have increased the rushing yardage.

2. Were Woods and Bell's backups black or white? Trying to figure out any trends.

You would be wrong. Both were good in certain situations, just not developed, then used properly. Neither were awful QB's.

Who said awful besides you? Being good in certain situations doesn't make you a good QB.

Bell was there in 2003 hence the emphasis on running and the increased rushing production.

Lee improved by leaps and bounds from his first year starting to the second year he started...just sayin.

Both were situational QB's because of shitty coaching and developement, then used in wrong situations. Both could have been more effectiove playing to their strengths than their weaknesses. The staff did a fair job of this early in the year then decided to make it worse.

Miles tried to make JJ a pocket passing QB, and never quit trying. It wasn't his strength.

Josh Fields : Looks like he took the job from Aso and progressed into a full time starter
Aso Pogi: Lost job to Fields?
Donavan Woods: Only one season.
Jamarcus Russel: Definitely progressed.
Matt Flynn: Definitely progressed.
Ryan Perrilloux: One year
Andrew Hatch: One Year.
JJ: Stayed the same, some progression.
Lee: Definitely progressed.

Is it just me? I can't find ANY QB's who regressed. I guess you can make the case for Aso, but he just lost his job.

He did win the starting job. But his 2nd year as a full time starter, his completion % went down plus he threw more INT's.

Went from a QB under Miles to a fricking safety. Really?

Matt Flynn: Definitely progressed.

Was not a full time starter the year prior to him starting

If you really believe this, our fanbase has problems. His best year was 2009, his first year as the full time starter. He got worse in 2010, and even worse in 2011.

Lee: Definitely progressed.

Was never the starter for the entire season

So what??? Did they regress throughout their careers or not?

Oh, and Tim Tebow clearly regressed from 2007 to 2009. Just look at the numbers. Urban Meyer sucks.

The only QB at LSU that regressed under Miles was JJ. JR, Flynn, RP, and Lee and progressed throughout their careers. Not sure I get your point.

The reason Woods started was because Fields left early for baseball. He was the OSU equivalent to Marcus Randall. Do some research for your analysis.

Backups progressing isn't important to the program?

The completion % shouldn't matter based on one year from the next. Look at the nfl where qbs play multiple years. Their stats vary from year to year, doesn't mean they regressed. If drew brees doesn't have as good stats next year doesn't mean he regressed, now if its a trend over the next few seasons you could say he has regressed due to his age.

If your numbers are correct for 2010 and 2011, J Lee looks pretty good and JJ is better than average.

JUST by the numbers though.

this. there is not sufficient data to "prove" (or disprove) the op's case. imo, he is starting with his premise and then setting out to prove it. qb is a tough and demanding position and few, in today's college world, prove out to be outstanding. at least in today's sec where the dlines are damn near professional quality. before i use any stats i want to see how the team uses mett and rivers. from the little i've seen of mett, he is the real deal and could turn out to be the best miles has had. but some lsu fans want perfection and it's just not there.

Point being this thread sucks like all the rest of the ones try to come up with some ryme or reason that it's Les Miles fault.

Point being we have been saddle with sad QB play for 4 years. You play the hand your delt. Which sucked which we all agree on.

Been a million threads on what and why. Why keep rehashing the same drival BS over and over?

So, the only thing this thread succeeded in proving was Miles likes to play black qb's?

This tread also proved that Miles doesn’t have the aptitude to coach in the SEC… Would call him the Dumb Hatter but he’s making $4 mil and trying to play Michigan football in the SEC. Without the quality of player we have, his arse would be history!!!

kinda stupid to post stuff like this when you don't know if any of those qb's lost wr's and or offensive lineman.
