Manziel and Winston were inexperienced young quarterbacks who won the last two Heismans. Sometimes when you give one of these guys the keys to the offense they exceed the expectations of nervous nellies on the message boards. Self-confidence is the X-factor.

Hodson was a Redshirt Freshman and first time starter and LSU won the SEC and Hodson made All SEC.

I hate to say this but it could be a year similar to when we played Randall and Russell. You could tell JR had greatness in him but he was young, inexperienced and (gasp) thin. They went back and forth during the course of the season at the position. One game you'd swear one was ready to take the position then it'd flip flop around. If our d can be better than our d that year, we can win some games but 3-5 losses could be realistic.

wel the 2 best QBs in the game had played 0 snaps before starting.
If JFF had a defense who knows what he could have done at A&M.

IMO, based on practice film, physical attributes, and the spring game Harris is more ready than Jennings. Additionally he has more upside. My expectations are high for Harris and that's probably a little unfair given his age and experience.

Bold prediction: Harris will be starting after the Auburn game, Dural will be the stat leader followed by Quinn.

JR and thin do not belong in the same sentence.

LSU fans in general are just tired of subpar QB play. As a fanbase this year more than any we need to have some patience. I know that wont' happen though.

Who knows. I see your fear, but, may the best player play. We don't have the 5,000 yds of offense we did last yr. If we get some improvement from the D, I won't be as concerned about the offense. Get through Wisky and develop a QB before we go to auburn. We have a damn stout O line and McGee is completely capable, & with a mix of Hilliard, that will give LF time to assimilate and learn blitz blocking assignments. D line and lb is why we didn't find ourselves in Atlanta. We also improved on coverage as Tre and RR grew up and grew up fast. Better coverage in the back end will help those 2 units. I'm like a lot of people, I'm worried about finding 3 legit WR's. I hope the frosh are what they are advertised as. I understand we're building for one helluva 2015/16.

Same here. Not expecting much from the QB position, just hope they don't make costly mistakes.

No fanbase goes full meltdown like the LSU fanbase does over the QB position.

We had 13 wins and a shot at a national championship with Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson as QB's. It will be a long time before I ever become too concerned about lack of QB talent at LSU.

We really haven't had it that bad as a program [Ex. FSU QB situation for the last decade]. People act like it's the end of the world when QB's struggle in a spring game.
