Would Bama, or Georgia stick with Daniels the whole year if he played with them or would they try Nuss or a 5-star freshman( Howard } just to see what they had?

Yes they 100% would, JD is probably the 6th or 7th best qb in the SEC

They did. He sucked & can’t run. We would have lost 2 or 3 more games without Daniels.

No way to know but Daniels ran mostly cuz he cannot execute the passing game. Pretty damn simple.

Let’s assume the O line gave him so much time he could’ve thrown it 4 times during most of his drop backs

What about then?

It was absolutely a contributing factor and a pretty large one at that

Choosing JD5 was a decision motivated by the O-line and their perceived ability to protect the passer. They are way better than when the year started but it is still the same guys playing and need more experience together. Spring and pre-season will be the same process this coming year with maybe different results. Look.. if JD5 improves as a pocket passer…he will be great, not just good. We may never see it with the NFL looming in the spring.

I’d probably stick with the guy that won the SEC West Championships and not listen to the retards in this board.

Bama and/or UGA would have used an All American (Boutte) much more as a weapon and forced the defense to show its hand by putting him in motion and in space. I saw Kiffin do this religiously as Bama OC and it helped a 1-read QB have a cheat code to be more of a 3-read guy that consistently moves the chains.

IMHO...you are right and this sucks.

JD more than likely is the best option and if he returns, i don't see any improvement at the QB position. He has rarely refused to throw the ball downfield and it finally bit us in the azz. Many have complained about it all season and his supporters only looked at the wins. Most QB's think they can make every throw an need to be reigned in. I've never seen a QB like JD that is afraid to throw downfield. I guess having a 10 TD / 10 INT season has shell-shocked JD.

On the other hand, if JD is the best option, I'm not too thrilled to see another QB taking his lumps next year. Obviously that QB will have a lot of improving to do. Typically, you like to have the backup get some snaps in-game but we rode JD.

Either way, I'm not too enthused about next year.

Qb play is always a large factor in a football game. Nothing new here. You don’t change horses from the guy that won you a title. It’s just stupid it’s even being discussed at this point.

Bottom line, without JD LSU does not win the west.
