During this QB battle, I haven’t been concerned with who the starter would be. I have full confidence that BK and the staff will go with the QB that gives LSU the best chance to win.

What concerns me now is the possible lack of depth. Brennan retires from football and now we are one transfer away from having a true freshman as our back up.

Worst case scenario is Daniel’s is named starter, Nuss transfers, and Howard is back up. Your left with a scrambling QB in the SEC with a true freshman back up.

Not saying this should have any impact on who the starter should be, just a concern to have.

Nuss is not transferring so it's not a concern

I can understand the worry here, but I don't think Nuss is leaving - he's got a prime ticket to a starting QB position as a RS soph for a top 5 program in America, just next year

hell, he will play some minutes this year I guarantee it

You can't be worried about that. You just have to play the best guy and let the chips fall where they may.

I just hope they're playing the best players and putting them in the best position to succeed.

I hope this isn't a fit thing where one guy will get the nod for a specific offensive scheme and then you lose a guy that could be the kind of QB to beat Bama

BK gets 9.5 mil to figure it out or frick it up and deal with the consequences

If our qb1 goes down and Walker is forced to play meaningful snaps this season, we will be in good hands

Almost no team has 4 QBs they'd be comfortable playing

Why would Nuss transfer with 4 years of eligibility left?

Brennan will come back if those two go down. If he’s not already in Tallahassee.

Believe it or not …there are some freshman who show up ready to play ….you don’t always have to be a 3 year project like Myles

What schools don’t have this problem?

We have normal QB depth, a starter, a next guy up that can run the offense and has some experience and a talented freshman. Never going to get much better than that.

In what scenario would the backup transferring before the season starts help him?

If he stays at LSU, he’s at a place where he knows the offense and is an injury away from playing, or possibly earning the job if the starter plays poorly

If he transfers, either he’s at a place so bad that he can show up week one and play, or more likely he goes somewhere else and sits the entire year

It’s an easy choice to make

Literally every team in D1 football would have that same problem. It’s Impossible nowadays to have more than two high caliber QBs on one team throughout a season. One or two of them will eventually transfer if they don’t start.

No we don’t. We have one, for sure. Maybe Nuss is viable. Howard almost certainly is not at this point.

How the frick do you know? You always come in act like you know more than anyone about everything. I’ve heard multiple people that are at practice say that Howard is probably the best thrower out of everyone.
