The throws Daniels was making in the last game were pretty darn impressive and no other guy brings the skills he has with his feet. It’s hard to rule him out as the returning starter, if he stays

I am not calling you out but just respectfully disageeing. I was not overly impressed with Daniels passing vs UGA. His YPA is dismal and the book on LSU with JD at QB since Bama is to contain him and make him beat you from the pocket. Ark put a double spy on him and he could not make them pay for it.

Daniels ran into a lot of his sacks this season. I can't figure him out, maybe someone can help... when Nuss was playing against Ga. you could see him scanning the entire field then quickly making his decision and fearlessly letting it fly. With Daniels, he doesn't seem to either scan or recognize the advantage to our great receivers down the field. He had rather a short sideline throw or hit the back out of the backfield. He doesn't turn the ball over and his short game is pretty accurate, but I've seen him not even attempt a pass to an open wide receiver down field. Why can't he make that easy Boutte wide open down the field play?

I have always felt that KB7 and Nuss are trying to mimic the JB9/JC1 chemistry.

I've read a lot of BS on this site, but this is a true gem!

Re-watch some games and see how often the WR is having to reach back to catch balls behind him on short throws instead of being able to stay in-stride, reduces YAC on many plays.

It looks to me like his main problem is that he just does not have good anticipation. All the crap that you see on here about in accuracy and lack of arm strength just does not seem to be the issue. What Nuss was able to do was anticipate.

The long post to Nabors was a perfect example. Guy was double covered, but the throw went to an open area of the field to the left of Malik who had leverage in that direction. He wasn’t ‘open’ but he had the only shot at going get that ball, and he did.

Daniels seems to either lack that ability or to not trust it. If he could fix that one thing he’d be fantastic. Most other flaws follow from that. The late throws - due to lack of anticipation, having to see the guy wide open. Throwing behind - somewhat same thing, as most of those are thrown a tad late and he is behind because he’s throwing to the GUY and not the SPOT that the guy can get to. Failing to go through progressions? Nah, look at his head. He LOOKS at multiple guys, because he knows he’s supposed to. He just doesn’t THROW it because he doesn’t anticipate what’s going to happen.

Knowing where the open spots on the field are likely going to be before the snap. Anticipation. Understanding leverage.
That’s what I don’t see as much w Daniels

Did you watch the throws that Nuss made in the Georgia game ??? More touchdowns , too . If they let him throw into the endzone when they were stopped on the one , that would be another TD . The team really responded to Nuss . The kid has really improved . Look at the Nuss tape on dandydon .

You mean by beating Kelly's mindset on a returning starting QB, who has been praised by his coach all year. We could be 9 and 3 next year and a decent bowl, or 7 and 5 with Nuss improving in every game and still make a bowl.

The doink INT to Bech was due to a bad throw... high and wide.
